I admit that as a Human, I don't have much patience. As a Muslim, I do have a high level of tolerance. It depends on how you wish to look upon it.
I have patience to wait, I have patience to listen but I have issues with Anger Management. Lol.
Today, I had class at the Masjid like every other Sunday and we were studying about Sabr.
I wasn't very interested (LOL) until I stumbled upon a hadith that totally woke me up.
Rasulullah saw said "A person who is patient receives as much reward for the hereafter as a person who dies a matyr"
(Muslim)
Subhan'Allah that is how generous our Lord is; Verily He is the Al-Kareem.
Take Rasulullah saw as a model. He was mocked, criticised, insulted over and over again and even physically abused but he never fought back; Rather he'd pray to Allah swt to give those who insulted him sabr (patience) and give them hidayah to embrace Islam.
And just today, i received a really meaningful Email; Masha'Allah and I thought it'd be great to share it with all :)
The law of the garbage Truck.
One day, I hopped in a taxi and headed for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his
brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital! 'This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.
Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home,or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.
It's true isn't it. Like what Raihana would say "Seize The Day, Never Have Regrets"
I know it's easier said than done but when we think of ourselves as Muslims, we should think ourselves as loving, caring and patient people. Everyone has their shortcomings and probably mine is, my anger management. Though so, I'm making an effort to work on it and Alhamdulillah, I do see myself moving on to my wanted phase.
Try it, the next time someone on the MRT/Train pushes you out and about like you never existed; instead of cursing the person say "Astaghfirullah, Allah give me patience"
Insya'Allah khair.
Why ruin your day just because someone was rude to you?
like Rai would put it in words again,
"If Life's too short to love, why then do we hate?"
:)
Allah Hafiz.
Have a Blessed Weekend all :)
P.S I'll use my anger management model as myself because I'm being very patient with my screaming mum who just wouldn't let me blog in peace.
Astaghfirullah, Allah give me patience and please make my mum realise if this goes on, I might need ear plugs. -.-
