I was listening to a lecture by Habib Ali Al-Jufri; snips of it were about how much Rasulullah saw loved his ummah and this reminded me of the lecture i attended just last 2 months on the Prophet's last Hadeeths @ a local Masjid :)
Subhana'Allah, Our beloved Prophet Muhammad saw loved us so much. On his death bed; he did not mention the names of His wives or the ones close to him rather he Cried to Allah swt to lighten the pain of sakkaratul mawt for His Ummah.
FOR HIS UMMAH. Even when he was returning to Allah swt, he remembered us. Subhana'Allah :'(
But are we remembering him in our lives?
Are we living by his teaching?
Are following his hadeeth?
Would our Rasulullah saw be pleased with the standing and the condition of His Ummah today? :'(

Quitting Jeans?

I think I'm going to stop wearing jeans. Well slowly that is, because I need to start purchasing trousers instead; I can't be wearing skirts all the time.
The reason why I'm going to stop wearing jeans is because I'm starting to think that they are a lil too fitting for a Hijabee. Though so, I'm not asking anyone to quit wearing jeans just because I think it's inappropriate for a Hijabee to wear it because PERCEPTIONS DIFFER.
I used to think it's okay to wear jeans with a long top but err... I realise that even the lower part of the jeans is revealing :S
Sheesh, i don't know; Abah seems delighted over the idea. Ummi can't really be bothered. lol.
Oh well, it's up to me again I guess Insya'Allah Allah will show me the light :)
Short post eh? because I'm actually getting ready to go to granny's CIAO!

Weird because you're modest?
I got an email yesterday from a sister; i haven't replied sister sorry I was really tired, Insya'Allah I'll reply through this post.
Our sister told me about her first day with her hijab and how she was getting stares from strangers on the streets.
Co-incidentally, the same thing happened to me yesterday. I wasn't only in Hijab but I also in a black jilbab.
When I'm dressed like this, I usually leave my house in the evening or at night because anyway I dress up like that to go to the Masjid or for class.
So since class was early yesterday, I obviously had to leave home early. Hence, the unwanted attention.
I was standing at the traffic light and a young muslim non-hijabee neighbour came and stood beside me. Not to send me a salam or hold out a hand to shake but rather to fold her arms and stare at me and my dressing.
Not that I was really bothered anyway.
Then we went for dinner at Swensens after class (THANK YOU SIS NORAINI! :P) and the same thing happened not only to me but to the other 2 sisters that were with me as well. As we entered the restaurant, the attention of the customers were diverted to us; throwing us with dirty stares and facial expression.
Us being us, we were not bothered.
What is wrong in dressing up modestly?
What is weird in covering every inch of my body?
The reason why I'm getting those glares is because I'm not showing my assets and displaying my ornaments out of which are meant only for eyes of my mahram.
Sister, we all go through this stage. We all go through a stage of stares and glares. It's been close to 6 months that I'm with my Hijab Al7mdulillah but till now, I still face these ignorant people.
It goes back to your intention of the Hijab sister because if you are wearing it to please Allah swt then Insya'Allah sister, you'll get through this stage and see it as just another test out of which Allah swt is granting you strength. You're not alone in this trial sis, all your sisters in Islam are with you.
Be strong and Keep the Hijab on :)

Because I want to get closer to Allah.
Class was different today. We were blessed with the presence of a renowned ulama' from Indonesia who was born in Egypt and grew up, studied and even taught in Mecca; Sheikh Nuruddin Albanjari Almakki. To those who attended the talk at Masjid At-Taqwa by the panel of ulama3s today; he was one of them.
Alhamdulillah, thanks to our teacher; Sheikh was our teacher for today. It is not everyday that we can learn from someone like him. His presence was enough to overwhelm us. His humility, respect, adaab and the way he got his message across was all done so perfectly; short and sweet; simple yet clear. Subhan'Allah. I forgot to mention the upclose and personal experience with his wife. :D
Masha'Allah wallah just by her presence you know she's an amazing Muslimah. I didn't exactly talk to her but we hugged and kissed each other after salah (the normal Muslimah thing).
Amazing experience. Waiting for another chance Insya'Allah :)
I don't know who's going to read this but one thing's for sure what I'm going to say is blatantly true.
To those who aren't familiar with my weekly schedule; every saturday I attend a religious class at the house of a brother in Islam. I think I've blogged about it before; whatever it is, wallah if there was one thing that I look for in my week it's this class.
Each and every lesson is spiritually enriching. Being around that not-very-big-yet-not-too-small group of brothers and sisters is just soooooo... sheesh i don't know how to put it in words actually. heh.
IT'S JUST REALLY AMAZING ALHAMDULILLAH; and I'm wallah so pleased and thankful to be amongst the group of Muslims, working together to strive and seek knowledge in the path of Allah swt.
May Allah swt be pleased with us all & May He shower continuous blessings and mercy on our teacher and His family. Ameen.
YOU KNOW WHAT I'm just really tired. I need some sleep.
It's 2 am; I have class at 8 am tomorrow. I have 10 ayahs of Al-Waqiah to memorise; Insya'Allah I'll do it like the other time and memorise during my 15 minute bus ride to the Masjid. LOL.
P.S NAZ i got dc sooo sorryy love you <3

Random Personal Update
My ShiSha smoking guy cousin came to granny's today; specially to meet me. NOT because he was missing me; but because he needed a favour.
Since i haven't met him for sometime we were sitting down to talk; over tea.
Cousin-: So... are you attached?
Me-: AGAIN... No cousin I am NOT.
Cousin-: Why not? You used to date alot.
Me-: HUH? I only had one ex-boyfriend; how "alot" is that? And because it's HARAM.
Cousin-: Why the sudden change? As in, the praying and the Haram taking note and the Hijab and all. Come on man, you were just as pretty without the Hijab!
Me-: Stupid questions ridhwan really. Put it this way then; I felt the need to become a better Muslim.
Cousin-: Come on, how much better? Look at me, I pray but dude we need to have fun sometimes.
Me-: You're saying we should be moderate aint it?
Cousin-: Exactly!
Me-: Islam isn't about taking what you want and leaving what you don't. It's time you start taking it as an entirety because Kal Ho Naa Ho yaar; you never know if tomorrow ever comes.
Cousin-: Right. Maybe my time hasn't arrived yet for me to be pious. We'll see when it is.
Me-: It's not about waiting for the right time to be pious; it's about wanting to. Forget it, I'm not going to nag; Asr is in. I'm doing mine; you do yours Insya'Allah.
*walks off to kitchen*
Cousin-: Hmm...I'll do mine later. Hey btw, you do know I don't club anymore right?
Me-: Alhamdulillah.
Cousin-: Wanna go for ShiSha this saturday?
Me-: You never give up do you? NO.
Cousin-: Sheeesh fine.
Seriously. What's so great about ShiSha? :@

When A'qilah Gets Uninspired.
I haven't blogged much and reason being is simply because I'm uninspired to. I don't really end up this way most of the time because I always have too many things to say but I am right now and I don't really know what to say.
Hmm... so what should I say?
Life is at it's downturn; well pretty much. Not that I seem to be affected by it because maybe I'm too optimistic. I can't wait for school to start so I can get away from family life. Oh yes, you have no freaking idea how it's like to be sitting at home for 5 months and to add to it all you hear is your cousin's "I don't want to get married to any other guy except that Son of a gun i'm engaged to" ranting and your aunts' "Please A'qilah knock some sense into her head, we want her to marry a good pakistani-arab guy who's good-looking and pious not that fraud of a guy she's engaged to" pleadings.
Enough I say.
I've been too cooped up with people's problems that I forgot I have a life to lead.
I want a break from all this and the best way to do so is to start attending school.
I attend religious classes to get myself away from them actually and guess what?
IT DOESNT FREAKING WORK
Even when i want to attend classes they stop me from going. SHEESH
I know you don't understand anything here actually well maybe sandra and fatin would but then again half of my readers won't. Doesn't matter; I just need to rant some horrible things out.
OH guess what speaking about ranting; I know of a brother who's taking his anger out on the world and making life miserable for people he knows and one of them is ME. YAY like i don't have enough crap in my life right now.
Oh and I think some brothers are way to screwed. I've known this Turkish brother since May last year but we lost contact for about 3 months. Somehow or rather he got my new email address and added me up last night and this was what happened.
Oo.rHan Says-:
SA! Askim! Nasil sin?
(Assalamualaykum darling, how are you?)
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
Walaykum Assalam, iyim tsk ederim :) Sen?
(Walaykum Assalam, i am well thank you; yourself?)
Oo.rHan Says-:
Iyim tsk ederim! I MISSED YOU CANIM!
(I am well, ty; canim means My heart)
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
Awww :)
Oo.rHan Says-:
Do you have boyfriend canim?
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
Errr no Orhan, it's haram remember?
Oo.rHan Says-:
OH yes of course it is. Masha'Allah you good Muslimah.
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
Jazaka'Allah Hu Khayr
Oo.rHan Says-:
I want to marry you Insya'Allah. :)(L) (F)
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
LOL... Insya'Allah.
(WRONG THING TO SAY WALLAH)
Oo.rHan Says-:
So you accept my proposal? :):):):) (L)(L)(L)
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
It was a proposal?!
Oo.rHan Says -:
iyi :)
(yes)
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
Oh wow. Okay. Wait, let me get my Abah (BRB)
Oo.rHan Says-:
Okay :)
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
Back, Abah says you have to learn Bahasa Indonesia before marrying me.
Oo.rHan Says-:
What is that askim?
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
OH...that is the language that we speak.
Oo.rHan Says-:
I will learn it! and after university finish, I will come to Singapur to marry you. :) (L)
A'qilah Saiere (F) Says-:
Great, see you soon.
Oo.rHan Says-:
:):):)
What is with Online Proposals?
I got one from a Masri 6 months back and till now he's asking me to marry him;
another from a Chechniyan and I blocked him and now a turk.
Why issit that the one Iwant to marry isn't proposing?
(DID I JUST SAY THAT?)
Anyway, I might be MIA-ing for sometime because i want to do more iktikafs and i'm sleeping at my granny's.
Will miss you as much as you'll miss me.
Saalams.

Islam is for Arabs?
Many non-Muslims have this stereotypical perception that all Muslims are Arabs in long flowing robes, covered from top to bottom, riding camels to and fro and we're all living in the deserts.
I can't blame them though because this stereotype misconception has long been perpetuated by the mischievous media.
Be surprised if you wish to but the truth is only 15% of the Muslim population are Arabs.
Which means, Arab Muslims are a minority.
The reverse is also true, not all Arabs are Muslims. There are Christian, Jewish and Pagan Arabs.(Never heard of Hindu and Buddhist Arabs though)
The Muslim Population currently is about 1.5billion (according to the latest statistics by wikipedia)
Islam is the World's 2nd largest religion after Christianity; and about 70% reside in Asia.
This itself is enough to show that Islam is a universal religion and is not necessarily connected with the Arabs.
Then again, Muslims are not only concentrated in the Middle East and Asia. There are Muslims in Africa, Europe and even as far as North America.
There have also been reports that relatively showed that Islam constitutes the 2nd largest faith in Europe itself.
So who said that all Muslims are Arabs and that Islam is only for Arabs?
I am Muslim and I ain't no Arab.
The Prophet saw said "There is no priority of an Arab over a Non-Arab and a Non-Arab over and Arab; like there is no priority of a black over a white and a white over a black. The only priority you have over each other is through piety"
(Bukhari)

Abah, Mak and Marriage talks.
I rarely talk about Marriage seriously to my Abah. lol. Don't ask me why but it's just a topic I'd rarely touch. I usually speak about marriage to the sisters or my best friend. :P
TODAY apparently was a lil different. We spoke about marriage. My mum was there too; surprisingly she only spoke for a bit. LOL...
Abah-: Fatin will marry an Arab, I'll find you a Javanese* from Jogjakarta*. I have a relative there that has a son, should be some what your age. what say?
Javanese-: Indonesian Extract
Jogjakarta-: Some city in Indonesia; never been there, don't know how it's like. (I ain't no geography freak.lol)
Me-: I don't really bother where he's from as long as he's pious and he can support me Insya'Allah.
Mother-: Don't marry the rich Indons, they'll make you work and they'll sit at home. Marry Indians. You sit at home and they'll go to work.
Me-: Good Idea. I don't mind marrying Javanese; taking into consideration that my dad is a good person and he's handsome and he's javanese. but then again, i want to marry an Indian. what say Abah?
Abah-: Astaghfirullah....
Mother-: Hello? What is that supposed to mean?
Abah-: I don't want my daughter to be cooking curry everyday.
Me-: OMG RACIST. lool. Abah then again I don't want to eat tempe* everyday. HAHAHA.
Tempe-: a popular Indonesian dish/snack made of soybeans
Abah-: On a serious note, I have someone in mind already. When you're ready Insya'Allah I'll talk to his parents.
Me-: Abah, don't freak me out. I'm serious, I want to marry an Indian.
Abah-: Hmm... we'll see.
Me-: I'm not ready for marriage in the first place, so cut it.
Abah-: yesyes study first. Make sure you don't start dating when you start school eh.
Me-: Astaghfirullah, it's haram. Insya'Allah if I do so, I'll tell you so we can do it the HALAL way. heh.
Abah-: Alright dude. You need to tell your mum to chill.
Me-: LOL... your wife. you talk to her.
Abah-: LOL (Pronounced really weirdly.)
Me-: Abah don't you think it's ironic how you want me to marry someone of your race but you yourself marry someone of the opposite race? You married an INDIAN mind you. I have Indian blood running through my veins. I should be speaking tamil. seriously. Don't start freaking out if you do see me bringing an Indian guy to home for dinner to meet you because abi,it's in the veins. you started it; I'm just completing the cycle *grins*
Abah-: *Starts Zikr-ing*
What is with parents and wanting us to get married to those of our own race? I've heard of sisters whose parents want them to get married with brothers from the same country too. sheesshhhhh.
LOL...
I'm 16 turning 17. Marriage? Give me a break. Sure in 3-4 years Insya'Allah :D

Haram Police

Have you ever come across people who do nothing but find fault in every single person they see in the streets?
Trust me, I personally know one.
Instead of correcting herself, she tries to correct me and the people around her. I am not perfect and Alhamdulillah, I take in criticism and advices or comments graciously and if these advices/comments will make me a better person that I'll follow them.
But, how do you know if you're approaching someone with the niah to give advice the right way?
I know a sister who simply loves to pick on the flaws of others and even if the person has no particular mistake then she looks for one. Astaghfirullah.
I call her the Haram Police.
I don't believe in looking for the mistakes of others but then again if I do spot one in a Muslim and it's a major one, I'll find a way to bring a message across and tell that person why what he/she is doing is Haram. I am no scholar but when I say something is wrong; my sources are the Qur'an and the Hadith.
This Haram police sister I know is somewhat related to me & because she's an elder, I find it difficult sometimes to advice her because for sure she'll rebutt with this;
"Look, who's elder you or me? Shouldn't I know better?"
The thing is if the mistakes that she's pointing out about people are what she herself doesn't commit then it's fine but there are certain things that even she's commiting yet she doesn't see herself doing it rather she sees it in another person.
In fact it's not just her. I know a handful of Muslims who choose to waste just so much time assuming the worst of others and instead of giving you the benefit of the doubt they throw you false accusations; without evidence that is.
The truly pious are those who see the best in everyone because when you don't see yourself as the perfect one, you constantly open up your hearts and minds to advices that'll make you a better person.
If you do see someone doing something wrong and you wish to correct them, do it the right way instead of screaming "Haram!" or start backbiting about the bad of that person.
No matter how successful or amazing you are, you have faults in yourself; just like anyone else has.
Just in case you forgot, no one is perfect.
Allahu A3lam.

Am I wearing a Hijab?
The meaning of a Hijab differs to every muslimah. Some love their Hijab so much, there is no way they'll take it off; some wear it to please their parents others to complete their religion. There are also a bunch who wear it to please the crowd they are in or cover their heads because wearing a veil has become a fashion icon.
What is the Hijab to you?
Is it just about a piece of cloth over your head?
Or is it the piece of cloth that represents you?
I am not criticising nor am I judging but personally I feel that the Hijab has lost it's meaning to most of the Muslimahs around me.
Wearing the hijab that should be so sacred and pure has been reduced to a mere cloth that covers their head.
To me, the Hijab is a symbol of modesty.
It's not just about covering you heads, rather it's about dressing up modestly; covering every inch of your aurah.
Wearing the Hijab and then being dressed up in the most fitting of jeans and tops isn't being a proper Hijabee
Wearing the Hijab half way on your head; showing off half of your hair aka bangs Hijab; isn't being a proper Hijabee
Wearing the Hijab that doesn't cover your chests; isn't being a proper Hijabee
Wearing the Hijab with a short sleeved tee isn't being a proper Hijabee.
Wearing the Hijab by covering your head fully but revealing your ears isn't being a proper Hijabee
To me the Hijab involves different stages.
The veil, the modest dressing and covering of the feet.
Insya'Allah before you leave the house next time, do a Hijab check and see if your dressing fits the right Hijab meaning.
Then again, perceptions differ; so if what I said here just offended someone then sorry, but this is what I think a Hijabee should dress up like.
Insya'Allah Khair.

Near death experience.

Just this previous Saturday, I was on the way to the Masjid in a taxi and wallah I nearly got into a car crash.
It happened at an accident prone T-Junction. It wasn't my driver's fault.
We were on the right lane and in front was a lorry at halt. The driver of the lorry didn't give any form of signal that he was going to start moving or switch lanes so my cab driver moved to the right lane and the minute he did that the lorry swerved to the same lane. Lucky for me, my cab driver swerved away just in time and jammed break and 3 vehicles behind followed suit.
I was thrown forward and the cell phone in my hand dropped. I was too shocked that I couldn't react to anything at all so much so my driver got worried and offered me a bottle of mineral water. lol.
Seriously, the front of the lorry was as close as an inch away from the door of the taxi that I was behind and the front of the taxi that I was in was an inch away from the fence.
Subhan'Allah. I don't know how many "Alhamdulillah-s" & "Ya Allah-s" i said after that.
Before I got off the cab, the driver said;
"You've reached safe and sound now and I know it's because God loves you and He knows you're on the way to worship Him"
I just smiled and said "May God Be with you always".
When I thought of what he said, I couldn't help but cry my heart out while I prayed Asr at the Masjid.
Verily, He loves us all. Had it not been for Him, I wouldn't be here narrating this to all of you today.

Used.

Sometimes I feel people take advantage of me. No, I'm not being full of myself or anything close to it but I feel that sometimes because I'm too submissive or too nice to put it right; people tend to be insensitive towards my feelings.
I've had a handful of sisters who have come forward to ask for my help in guiding them towards embracing Islam as an entirety and wallah, I'm willing to help whole-heartedly.
Then again, if as far as I wish to help them; they have to start helping themselves. They have to be more than willing to actually return to Allah's path.
I'm no qualified teacher, not as pious as many seem to think and I am not a religious leader; Insya'Allah though one day I'll be all of the above. I am though, just another sister that is wiling to help my fellow Muslims in every way that I'm able to and in any way that they wish me to help out with.
As much as I love them, I wish they are sincere in seeking help from me because as far as I am concerned, all that I do are because of Allah and because of the love that I have for my ummah.
I don't like the fact that people start using me as a "last resort". I don't like it when people don't keep their promises and I just despise the fact when people cancel on me the very last minute.
I admit, anything can happen. For sure, yes. However, if you wish to cancel on me last minute let it be a logical reason that I won't get angry about. Don't just throw me a random one or two line of excuse and then apologise.
Subhan'Allah. This has happened to me for several times now and each time someone cancels on me last minute, it's the same lame excuse.
I am not a hypocrite neither am I so frank that I'll hurt you with my words but I don't want you to take advantage of the fact that I'm nice.
I know that sometimes I'm too nice that I don't scold people when they cancel on me last minute despite the fact that I'm extremely infuriated that Ukhti Fatin thinks I'm dumb to keep the anger within and let it go instead of telling that person off.
But, I'm just now the type of person that'll tell you on your face
"The next time you wish to go out/attend a class; please don't ask me along"
So please, the next time you wish to go somewhere with me and can't make it eventually; at least tell me an hour or two in advance; if not let "sakaratul mawt" be your valid reason.
Because this patience might not last.

When Muslims Insult Non-Muslims.
I've been an active Youtube user for close to a year now (hence, I'm getting really tired of it.)
& I've met my share of beautiful sisters, brave brothers, the polite and respectful non-muslims, the ignorant and idiotic infidels; not to mention the handful of Zionists that I've angered.HAHA.
I've not really been very into Youtube these days but as I was discussing the India-Pakistan conflict with a brother yesterday, I browsed the channels of Indian Hindus, Indian Muslims and the Pakistani Muslims.
Let's get straight to the point (I'm really tired)
The Pakistani Brothers' profiles are full of hatred towards the Indians as a whole nation and they target and insult Hindus. They set up channels to specifically insult the Hindus & these channels are just filthy, extremely insulting and most importantly, REALLY UN-ISLAMIC.
Yes, I admit; there are Hindus that insult Islam and Muslims but when I look at the profiles of these brothers and the words that they throw to the Non-Muslims, I don't blame them. Firstly, they are not helping the Muslims rather they are fueling the fire.
Verily Allah swt has said in His Qur'an that Muslims should not insult the God of other religion because in return they might insult your Allah and Prophet out of ignorance.
What is the need for the brothers to go to harmless Hindus' profiles and start insulting their every God and every practice?
If you have an issue with what they are doing just keep it to yourself.
Why are we not having faith and practicing what Surah Al-Kafirun tells us?
Qur'an 109:6
"La Kum Deenukum Waliyadeen"
To you be your Way, and to me mine.
Muslims, if you wish to gain respect then show that you have respect for the ones that you wish to gain from.
Yes, there are those that fall into the category of ignorant and idiotic and no matter how much respect you show them they'll continue insulting. In the first place, talking to them is a wasted effort and to me if you insult them back; you're joining them and seeing you angered is what makes them jump with utmost joy.
With that, why waste your breath on someone that doesn't deserve that one minute of yours?
Should you wish to answer back by hook or by crook then answer with intelligence or else IGNORE.
Sometimes we have to be intellectually smart to save ourselves.
I'm way done and over with the "You insult my religion? (@&*#@*!&@&!*(@&!&@^(*&!(@&!()@!()@*!*@!@ YOU!"
Sheeeesh, i don't think Allah swt will be happy with what I'd have said then anyway.
So please. Cut it.
(This applies to the "empty vessels"(Zionists) too yeah.)
Thee k, Chal.

Hectic Week.

Right. I might abandon this site for a week (this coming week). I'm just going to be really caught up with a million and one things and I'm afraid I might not have the time to commit myself to this little webbie.
Insya'Allah though I'll be back earliest by Thursday or latest by Sunday ;)
Btw, they are canceling granny's eye op. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. I didn't know my aunts and uncles are doctors so much so that they decide what's best for a cataract patient. -.-
To all my beloved brothers and sisters today, 9 March 2009 & 12 Rabiulawal 1430 is our Prophet Muhammad's saw birthday; Insya'Allah let us all celebrate this day with countless praises in his name and Our Lord's name; in remembrance of our great Messenger; Our Teacher of Teachers.
Ya Habibi ya Muhammad
Ya Shafi'i ya Muhammad
Khayru khalqillahi Muhammad
Ya Mustafa ya Imamal Mursalina
Ya Mustafa ya Shafi'al 'Alamina
Ya Mu'allim peace be upon you;
Truly you are our Teacher...
I love my Prophet Muhammad<3

Wet Weatherrrrrrrrr :)

I know this is weird but I can't be happier that South-East Asia is going through the Monsoon Season- Wheeeeeeeee!
I love the RAIN :D
It's probably because I'm deprived of it. Come on folks, you gotta understand. We're always seeing the sun here in Singapore so when it starts to rain, I get pretty excited :)
It's not that there's much to do when it rains but try adapting to the situation.
Instead of spending your day out at the mall; make yourself a cup of tea or coffee or whatever, get some chips, sit in front of your computer and start surfing for a good website that allows you to watch good movies.
Alternatively, you can spend your time reading the Qur'an after every prayer to wait for the next, zikr or listen to some good nasheeds.
About the snacking part, if you're looking for a healthy snack then I recommend the Prophet Muhammad's Diet.
Get yourself a glass of milk & dates. Almonds and Raisins are pretty healthy too.
Insya'Allah khair!
OR...
If you wanna have some fun, then run outside and get caught in the heavy rain :P
hehehe.
Anyone up for a cuppa @ Coffee Bean Tampines? RING/TEXT MEEEE :D
Oh and yes, SISTERS who are interested in reading my blog that I share with Naz; please leave yr emails with me Insya'Allah; we're making that blog private.
In case some of you don't know, I open up more in that blog; I'm less of a critic, political freak and a haraam police, more of a simple Muslim Teen :)

Jerusalem Updates.
A man has been shot dead in Jerusalem after he drove a tractor into two vehicles, Israeli police have said. The man was killed on Thursday after his digger turned over a police car and hit an empty bus, Mickey Rosenfeld, an Israeli police spokesman, said. At least three Palestinians have been killed after Israel conducted an air raid on the Gaza Strip.Medical workers said two people were killed at the scene of the attack on Thursday near the Israel-Gaza border and a third died later in hospital. An Israeli army spokesman said the raid targeted a group of fighters who had fired an anti-tank missile at troops across the border.
"It seems to be a terrorist attack from the evidence we have at the moment," he said.

"It seems to be a terrorist attack from the evidence we have at the moment," he said.
A man loses control of his tractor, and drives towards 2 Israeli Vehicles and he's a TERRORIST.
Let's change the story a lil yeah?
An Israeli drives his bulldozer and demolish homes of hundreds of Palestinians; killing all of them and it's an ACCIDENT.
Sheeeeeeeeesh.
Like we all don't know of these double standards.
Only 2 people were lightly injured in the "attack" and they had to shoot this poor fellow who apparently seemed to have come from the "Arab Minority" DEAD.
So how many Israelis are we supposed to shoot dead for the division of the Palestinians in Jerusalem and how many Israelis are we supposed to kill for the massacre in Gaza and West Bank?
Speaking of Gaza,
RIGHT...
An Israeli army spokesman said the raid targeted a group of fighters who had fired an anti-tank missile at troops across the border.
Same old stupid, bloody excuse.
Wasn't that the same reason they used for the 2008 Gaza attacks?
"We're only targetting Hamas who are hiding amongst the civilians."
SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH.
If you're merely targetting a group, just one SMALL group; you wouldn't go on killing spree.
Come up with more creative excuses Israel, I'm bored of listening to the same bullsh*t all over again.

When Allah Tests A Friendship.

Have you ever wondered why in some relationships* there seem to be no ups and downs and in some there seem to be too many obstacles?
*When I mean relationship, I'm referring to all forms of relationships; friendship, boy-girl-relationship, relationships with parents etc.
I share a special bond with a special someone; sister that is and it seems that there's been too many obstacles in our friendship. Sure it started off with my own share of friends being unhappy about us getting closer, but Alhamdulillah all went well and then now there's another arising problem.
It's not exactly a problem, I just choose to look upon it as another obstacle; another hurdle.
Sure enough we jumped over this one too.
So what's next?
I don't wish to classify this under jealousy, but then again if these PEOPLE aren't jealous of our friendship then why are they the ones making a big deal out of it?
I don't know who's reading this and I hope I'm offending no one; but i seriously think that enough is enough.
I'm stealing no one and ditching no one. If we're meant to be friends then we're meant to be friends. If we're not, then we wouldn't even notice each other on the streets.
This special relationship I share with a special sister is built on that mutual trust, respect, understanding and love that we have for each other.
It took me 6 months since the time I embraced Islam as an entirety to find a sister that'd accept me for who I am, that vows to be by my side when I'm down and the one that shares my every joy and every laughter; the one that tries very hard to wipe away my every tear.
AND I AM NOT LETTING GO OF MY SISTER because of your pathological jealousy.
NO.
Neither am I stopping you to be friends with her; never will I ever do that.I didn't come in between any friendship neither did she come between any.
If again after this there are those who are unhappy then let me tell you something, BLOODY SCREW YOU.

Racial Conflict.
My cousin is a freaking racist.
This was what happened yesterday.
Myself-:
*On The Phone* "No No, I am around my aunties, I can't talk now. Okay Bye" (In Tamil)
Cousin-:
"Eh, stop speaking in Tamil lah please; you're a bloody Natha*"
*Natha is MALAY in a harsh Tamil Slang.
Myself-:
"I'm not fully Malay please; My mum's an Indian. If not we wouldn't be related in any way. Dei, Podi!"
*Dei Podi! -: Eh, go away. (Tamil)
Cousin-:
"NO NO, Your IC (Identification Card) states that you're a Javanese. Stop it, you're a bloody Natha. Shut up. Chup!*"
*Chup-: Shut up in Hindi.
Myself-:
"Firstly, is there a rule in Singapore that forbids me from speaking in another language besides Malay and English? No. Strike One.
Secondly, Who was the one who helped you answer the Chinese speaking (Non-English Speaking) Customer Serv Officer who didn't understand you? Who was the one who translated what the Indian Brother at the Mosque was trying to tell you? Who was the one who helped you answer the Non-English Speaking Turkish Brother that you met on the net? Who was the one who helped you translate your Malay to Bahasa Indonesia to the old maid working in our granny's kitchen so as to enable her to get you a drink? ME ME ME ME. Strike two.
Thirdly and most Importantly, I am a Muslim and my Prophet saw taught me that "There is no priority of an Arab over a Non-Arab and a Non-Arab over an Arab; like there is no priority of a White over a Black and a Black over a White. The only priority you have over one another is only through Piety"
So If you have a problem with my race, all I can say is keep it to yourself because when I die, Munkar and Nankeer is not going to ask me in Bahasa Indonesia or Tamil or Hindi or Turkish. So Shut the eff up and stop being b*tch cousin"
And she kept quiet and I got my STRIKE 3.
Sidetracking,
Sheeeeeeeeesh I feel like having Indian Foooodddddddddd. FATIN LET'S HAVE INDIAN ON FRIDAYYYY :D

When Culture Contradicts Religion.

In many cases, I see that part of the Malay and Indian Culture contradicts with Islam. I'm not sure about the Arab, Somalian etc but I'm pretty sure the Malay and Indian Culture as well as the Western culture have portions out which contradicts to the teachings of Islam.
Here in south-east of Asia, many associate Malays with Islam; causing a very much stereotyped perception that all Malays are Muslims and all Muslims are Malays. However, many aren't aware that some of the cultural practices of the Malays aren't Islamically right.
Let's take for example the ritual/dance well known in the Malay Community; The Kuda Kepang.
Kuda Kepang is a dance that usually involves nine dancing men and women on wooden horses accompanied with the soft melodies of the Gamelan*.
*A musical ensemble that consists of traditional Malay/Indonesian musical instruments such as gongs, tambourines and angklungs.
This dance is strongly linked to spiritual activities such as Spirit Possession and often the dancers go into a trance-like state.
In most cases, when the dancers get into a trance-like state; they start doing things that are obviously NOT human.
Some start chewing on grass and I've seen others licking charcoal.
Oh wait, there are also extreme cases that consume GLASS.
If you think this is bad, I've seen a documentary that depicts a Kuda Kepang dance in Bali out of which, one the dancers took a form of a PIG and started rolling around in the mud, eating dirt and was glad to be caned by his master. The cane used for these dancers aren't the bamboo canes that our parents use to threaten us when we were younger and when we refused to bathe; but these canes are the type of canes they use in prison.
So basically, these people are INSANE.
I have a male friend who's actively involved in the Adrah* and Kuda Kepang
*An ensemble of Kompang -: a traditional frame hand drum played in ensembles using an interlocking technique to produce various composite rhythms
And when I told him that this dance is Islamically wrong and that to be doing what he's doing is just insane; he told me I say so because I don't know how to appreciate my culture, my traditions and my roots.
If there was one person that's proud to watch a Malay dance or hear the screaming of a Dikir Barat group then it's me (Aku Melayu Seyy LOL...). However, if my culture starts to contradict the teachings of my religion, then I have no reason to even appreciate it.
Oh btw this is a modern Dikir Barat example. (Nothing much if you don't understand Malay, just a group of girls screaming lol.)
SO ANYWAY, Kuda Kepang; is obviously Islamically WRONG. So if you're Malay and Muslim, avoid having Kuda Kepang performance in wedding (My cousin had one at her wedding, I was so pissed off; can't do anything about it; they are too proud to be Javanese* (Alahai...)
*Indonesian Extract
BUT, if you're Malay/Javanese and NOT Muslim; go ahead with the eating of Glass. Tell me if it's nutrtious eh.
What about the Indian Customs?
Erm.. Some Indian Customs are too closely related to the Hindu Culture.
Like in some Indian weddings, when the groom comes in; the family members of the bride take a few sweets, dry fruits and money, wrap them up in sort of a plate and then make a circular motion with the plate in front of the groom. This is pretty close to the "Aarti" Hindu Ritual.
I'm not too sure, because my family leans more towards the Malay Culture though my grandparents believe in a lot of Indian Superstitions that have been brought down to my aunties. LOL, astaghfirullah.
May Allah guide us all.

Yet Again?
Israeli fighter planes have bombed smuggling tunnels linking the Gaza Strip to Egypt, witnesses said. The attack on Tuesday came after Tel Aviv vowed to respond to rocket fire from the Hamas-ruled territory.Residents said Israeli aircraft carried out at least seven strikes along Gaza's southern border, where dozens of tunnels are used for trafficking people, goods and arms into the impoverished territory.

Israel bombs Gaza tunnels
Four people were wounded in the raids, Palestinian medics said.
An Israeli army spokesman confirmed that the air force "has been carrying out strikes in the southern Gaza Strip".
Will someone tell me how recent this is? Which Tuesday is the article talking about? Yesterday's Tuesday? I haven't been browsing Al-Jazeerah's website for sometime and I haven't been watching the updates either so pardon me if this is old news.
I doubt it is though, because it was under "AROUND THE WORLD NOW"
& the website was
UPDATED ON:
Tuesday, March 03, 2009
18:03 Mecca time, 15:03 GMT
So... yet again another attack? Right.
What happened to "mutual peace"?
The tunnels that links Gaza and Egypt is the only other alternative for the Palestinians to get their basic needs besides the ones that are being sent to them through Humanitarian Agencies around the world.
Destroying these tunnels are depriving them of their needs.
Oh wait, i forgot! Isn't that what the Zionists are fond of doing?
"If it turns out that Hamas has not got the message, it will be hit again," Livni told public radio hours before meeting Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, on her first official visit to the Jewish state.
Hamas has not got the message? I think Israel hasn't got the message. What they think should be stopped and what they have deceived the world into believing as terrorism is to me, RESISTANCE.
As far as I am concerned, Hamas will no stop it's attacks if Israel doesn't quit screaming that the land is theirs.
Seriously, quit whining Zions; stop being bloody pests.
Have you all stopped with the boycott? My brother has started buying McDonald's again and when I scolded him and "nearly" slapped him; he said "But Kakak(Elder Sister) the war is over"
He's a 12 year old, nothing I say can make him understand.
So if you're reading this and you're NOT a 12 year old; please bear in mind THE WAR IS NOT OVER. Who said it was in the first place?
All your armies,
all your fighters,
all your tanks
and all your soldiers,
against a boy
holding a stone,
standing there all alone.
In His eyes I see the sun,
In His smile I see he moon,
and I wonder,
I only wonder,
who is weak and who is strong,
who is right and who is wrong,
and I wish,
I only wish,
that the truth has a tongue.

Do We Cover Our Feet?
As Muslimahs are our feet considered our aurat? I've been pondering over this for some time now and until Sister Fatin brought it up today; do I remember and finally plucked up the courage to text my Ustazahs.
Two Out of which replied and gave me absolute clarifications about my doubt. Both used similar sources (same hadeeth and same Qur'an verses) thus, giving no sort of complications over the matter. Alhamdulillah, may Allah be pleased with our sisters.
So do we or do we not cover our feet?
With reference from Surah An-Nur (Qur'an 18:30);
"(30) And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons or sisters' sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women's nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah together, O believers, in order that ye may succeed."
came about 3 different opinions over what the women should cover and what is alright for us to reveal.
1)Every form of body part is an aurat thus a believing woman should cover every inch of her body
-Mazhab Ahmad & Ibnu Taimiyah
2) Every body part is an aurat except the face, hands as well as the feet; thus the believing women should cover what is considered aurat and can only reveal what isn't.
-Mazhab Abu Hanifah
3) Every body part is an aurat except the face and hands; thus believing women should cover what is considered the aurat and may reveal the latter.
-Mazhab Malik dan Syafi'e
To further cross-refer to as a source is a hadith.
Abu Bakar r.a's daughter met Rasulullah saw one day and was dressed in thin and loose clothing. Upon seeing her, Rasulullah turned away and said "Oh Asma', verily every believing women who has reached maturity (menses) should not reveal any of her body parts (aurat) except these"
When Rasulullah saw mentioned "these" he was pointing to the face and palms.
Thus, referring to this hadeeth; it strengthens the stand of Mazhab Imam Syafii' that states
"Every body part is an aurat except the face and hands; thus believing women should cover hat is considered the aurat and may reveal the latter."
So final answer to those who heed and follow Imam Syafii'; as women we are to cover our every aurat except our faces and palms (hands); thus, making the niqaab sunnah and the covering of feet wajib.
Though so, I urge to say that I do not in anyway claim that the other Mazhabs are wrong.
Just that as Asians, most of us lean more towards Imam Syafii's Mazhab.
However I wish to urge that if a muslimah is extremely beautiful that may cause men to have lust or a rise in nafs when looking at her, then the wearing of the niqaab becomes wajib for her.
That's how much Islam respects us women, treating us like pearls :)
Aren't you thankful you're a muslimah?
Allahu A3lam Wa Ahkam.

Personal Update.
Errr.. thee k, this is a little random but I'm not very inspired to blog today. Bohut tired hu.
(What's with the Hindi anyway? LOL)
Sheeesh I'm so rude, I didn't start with a proper greeting. (Actually, I never did*refers to other posts*)
Assalamualaykum sisters/ if there are; brothers, I'm not going to blog much today. Don't really have anything it mind to rant or blab about.
I'm actually feeling a little "all-over-the-place-because-i-should-be-sleeping" right now.
Time Check *2.00am* ( I hope that does the explanation)
& my arms are aching. I don't know why but each time I carry my lil nephew around I go home with my arms all sore. LOOL. Speaking of which, I saw my lil nephew tonight after some time and I accompanied my auntie (His grandmother) home with him & stayed to play with him for a bit before heading home. LOL, that little thing is superrrrrr heavy now. Ya'Allah, and he can't sit still; keeps fidgitting in my arms.
He's learning how to speak, masha'Allah and it's just sooooo adorable. My aunties are such spoilers. Instead of calling me Auntie, they taught him to call me "Didi" (sister). Mein didi nahi, auntie hai auntie ji!
LOL.
So he's just screaming "Di! Di!" or you'll hear "Bu!Bu!" (for Bubu which also means sister btw) when I'm playing with him. lmao.
aaaaaah sooooo cuteeeeeeee<3333333
Oh and yes, I need to cut down on watching Haram Bollywood Movies (which are apparently losing every bit of the indian culture. Hence, not even worth the watch; speaking of which now understand why I typed in Hindi? because I just finished watching Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi AGAIN. Stop it A'qilah, really.)
Oh, and I collected my medical reports today; Alhamdulillah I'm fit for my diploma courseeeee wheeeeee :D Out of which, I've also discovered I need Hepatitis B ammunition and I've to start thinking of how to handle my scoliosis issue.
I'm actually looking at my granddad's pic when he was younger; Awww he looked soo handsome! :) Hence, his granddaughter (LOL...)
Oh and I told my Abah about the stalker when we went to the supermarket again today and this was what he said;
"I told you not to be pretty; you never listened. Is he here now? A'qilah, please be careful and stop dressing up and being pretty"
And I said;
"Did I ask you to be good looking? I didn't right? So why did you pass on your genes to me?"
And My Mum said;
"What the hell are you two doing? Indirectly praising each other and making it seem as though you're fighting? And A'qilah, what do you mean by "Your Abah's genes"? WHAT AM I NOT PRETTY?"
Seriously. I don't know how to handle my parents.
Erm so what else?
I'm hungry.
Don't ask why I'm hungry at 2.00am but yes I am.
I'll leave you guys to think of that, while I be boring somewhere else; or simply find what's left in the kitchen that's fit for consumption at 2 am in the wee hours of the not-very-early-morning.
So Long...
Allah Ma3k.
