I'm alone in the living room on my Vaio typing out a 10-20 paged essay and accompanying me is a glass of Apple Juice.
I swear imma die any moment now. I only have 3 pages for my essay and it's due on saturday AND... my printer's outta ink AND... I'm going out tomorrow the whole day.
Ya'Allah :'( Insha'Allah Khayer.
These were the topics given -:
1. Suicide bombing from Islamic perspective.
2. Cosmetic surgery from Islamic perspective.
3. Celebrating other religions' festivals.
4. Mixed-faith marriage between Muslim and people of the book.
5. Apostasy from Islamic perspective.
6. Accusation of sodomy in Islamic law.
7. Punishment of sodomy in Islamic law.
8. Islamic view on food of people of the book.
9. Mercy killing from Islamic perspective.
10. Islamic view on music.
I'm doing the Mixed-faith marriage one though initially I wanted to do the suicide bombing one and then changed my mind because the only research material i got was an article by Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki because half of what i found on the net were well bias - prolly zionist owned sites. lol.
My back is aching soooooooo badly Subhana'Allah and my stomach's growling. I have a HORRIBLE diet. I had an apple for breakfast, nothing for lunch because i was snacking away after breakfast and then I had rice for dinner and some soup and salad, now i'm hungry AGAIN sigh.
It's 2 am i swear, I'll fall asleep anytime now if I continue reading my Fiqh book because it's in Malay and I understand only half of it and I'm having a proper hard time translating it to English.
Lol.
Wish me luck, keep me in yr prayers insha'Allah ;)
Love ya'll like i love my ladoo.

Stop Bickering.

Youtube is sick site. It's full of crazy people. Weirdos & Sickos.
But what disgusts me most are not these "sick in the head" people rather, it's the Bickering Muslims.
When a Muslim disagrees with his brother, he attacks his brother and they start bickering and they spam each other's walls with stupid, ignorant comments.
To simply put it, they are drying their dirty laundry in public.
1. It's bringing about a bad image of the Ummah.
2. With the state of Muslims being oppressed in countries like Palestine, Afghanistan etc, we still have time for our little disagreements and petty little squabbles?
If you think the other person is doing a wrong thing and you feel obliged to stop him, then go forward and make your point - with concrete evidence from the Qur'an or Sunnah, not your mere selfish opinions. If the person doesn't want to listen, then leave it. Let Allah guide him.
Insha'Allah Khayer. As simple as that.
And then we have the issue of Nationalism.
The Pakistanis hating the Indians, accusing them of oppressing their own brothers & the Indians telling Pakistan it's their land.
Ya'Allah, grow up. GROW THE HELL UP.
You shouting to one another will not liberate Pakistan, will not stop the violence in Kashmir, will not make the Muslims in India help you damn it. So cut it.
And stop making Youtube such a big deal, you don't depend on that site for a living so stop spending half of your life there.
Sigh, the state of Humanity.

Traitor much? Not.
A really interesting article.
Don’t call me a traitor”: An Israeli dissident speaks
By Enbal Gross
• January 10, 2009
Do you believe that you should go after your heart no matter what? Do you think you should stay loyal to your beliefs regardless? Well, I do. And I want the whole world to know that. If in my journey after justice I persuade only one person, my work is done and I will be happy.
It’s no news that my opinions and thoughts are very different to most (if not all) of those around me. Almost every Israeli I speak to about politics calls me a traitor and says I should leave the country. It is always hard and I’ve always been attacked – verbally and sometimes even physically.
As an Israeli teenager you are obligated to recruit to the army when you are 18, with very few exceptions (like a medical condition or if you have children etc.), so I, like everyone, went to serve my country. This is the first and probably the only time I really did feel like a traitor.
I had betrayed my heart, I shouldn’t been a part of this army; in fact I shouldn’t have been part of any army! In boot camp I refused under any circumstance to hold a gun, even not in the firing range on cardboard figures.
The first sentence most Israelis know in Arabic is the same. You will learn it in the first week of boot camp: WAKAF U AL ANA BATUCHA (in feminine gender) which means, “Stop or I’ll shot!” After only a few months and a lot of sights that an 18 year old should never see, I asked to be released for the simple fact that I did not want to take any part in it.
With all due respect, I want to live my life without emotional scars and traumas and it is impossible to do that when you are taking part in occupation of another nation. After a few weeks of deliberations and investigations — in all of them I declared myself a pacifist — the nightmare was finally over. I was once again a civilian, no longer a soldier.
Then I had another encounter with the IDF, this time from the other side. I stood face to face with soldiers, defending Palestinians with my body from being shot at (they don’t have the courage to shoot an Israeli — it will be all over the news). And I’ve been arrested for defending their village in a non-violent demonstration.
But never in my life had I thought the following would happen…
In the last 13 days, since the Israeli offensive on Gaza, my position has been getting harder and harder. I’ve been taking an active part in political debates and arguments on the Internet. On one hand I get e-mails and comments from Arabs all over the world calling me a hero (which I don’t believe that I am). On the other hand I get threatening and offensive e-mails and comments from Israelis and Jews calling me, among other things, a “traitor”.
Well, first of all, don’t I live in a democratic country? Where is the freedom of speech? Secondly, why should I be quiet after all I have seen? In the last few days I revealed some hypocritical non-democratic actions perpetrated by Israelis.
One of them got me thinking seriously about leaving this country-for good:
Our group on Facebook, “PREVENT A NEW GENOCIDE; SAVE GAZA”, got hacked by a group called the Jewish Internet Defense Force (JIDF). They changed the picture in the group to a picture of the Israeli flag and wrote, “This group is closed due to the fact that there is no such thing as Palestine”. In the info section of the forum they wrote, “game over”. I really believe this is a shameful act. No one has the right to do that. We all have every right to speak out about whatever we want as long as we are telling the truth and have facts on our side.
Am I a traitor just for telling the world what is really going on here? Is it wrong to uncover the ugly truth about war crimes? I’m sorry but I don’t think so.
If Israel is really the best democracy in the world like they claim, then why have I had a gun pointed at me by Israelis soldiers at demonstrations, why have I been shot at with tear gas grenades, why have I been yelled and sworn at?
If I’m a traitor because I can see the truth and stand up for the weak and helpless – so be it. I’m willing to be called a traitor for caring about human life and wishing for innocent lives to be saved. If traitor means wanting peace, freedom and justice, I am guilty as charged. Just tell me what the penalty is… but in the meantime think about children that have died in Gaza (almost 250 in 13 days), think about the four little children that have been found alive holding their mother’s dead body for days. Think about all the new orphans in Gaza, about the women and elderly, what are they on trial for and why were they sentenced to death?

Sigh.
You're Human.
I'm Human.
We're Humans.
The world is screwed.
And who screwed it up?
Us.
Humans.
Remember when Allah said He wanted to send Khalifahs to this earth, the angels said "Why are you sending those who are only going to cause bloodshed and disorder?"
[(2:30) Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said: "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?"]
You think the world just started screwing up today?
Hell No.
It was screwed up since a long time ago.
So stop acting like you're not part of ruining this globe.
We all are culprits and the earth is our victim.
The End.

Anne Frank.
Don't call me slow or outdated or old fashion or whatever, I'm actually reading Anne Frank. I know some of you probably read it back in High School or maybe for some even Junior School because you were made to read it.
I've never really liked reading. I ain't no bookworm.
Just quite recently, I decided that I need to pick up the habit of reading. I started off with the Papers and now I'm reading this book. I'm a proper slow reader but I think, what matters more is that well... I read. Oh and I write too.
I think I've blabbed on before about how much I love the English Language and when I tell this to some of my friends who either speak Arabic as a first language or say, Malay; They'd be scolding me, saying that English is a western language. It's not MY language.
ENGLISH is a LANGUAGE. LANGUAGES come from Allah swt. So if you are thinking that me speaking English all the time makes me westernised, don't blame me - blame globalisation.
I admit, I've lost touch with Malay but that doesn't mean I've stopped appreciating it. I love that language too just not as much as English & Arabic.
Besides, English is one of the most important languages in the world. You don't go to a french and ask if he can speak malay isn't it? Or say to an italian and ask if he can speak urdu?
It's like a common mode of speech. It's just how much you appreciate it.
& I cannot stand people who try to ruin this language.
Singapore has a famous comedy - Phua Chu Kang. It's like for local entertainment purposes. This dude - the main character, he speaks in Singlish - English with the hardcore Singapore Slang.
Okay, it's funny. There's humour there etc but that's just not the right way to teach your fellow citizens to speak the right english.
The way we speak, determines how well we interact with the outside world and if you don't learn to speak in proper English now- i'm not talking about PERFECT, I'm talking about proper then you'll never learn.
What more, we Singaporeans have to interact with foreigners almost everyday.
For sure, the slang is one of the few things that makes us unique but you don't let it rule your way of speaking because once you're comfortable with it, you're stuck with it and when it comes to Oral Examinations or Speech tests or even interviews, you freaking flunk them.
Speak PROPER English. Really.
No Seriously.
I know this has nothing to do with my title, but I just had to blab.
Oh and "The Diary of Anne Frank" is a good book.
Read it. I don't think it's Zionist propaganda lol.

Eid for me, Eid for you, Eid Mubarak to US :)

It's Eid Morning! I just got back from the Masjid for the Eid Prayers and and and just filled my stomach with the typical eid breakfast.
Heard of Ketupat? It's a traditional malay dish. Well ketupat itself is rice cake *points at pic above* and we eat these rice cakes with several dishes. Rendang especially. It's like this curry-like dish. Okay, don't ask me to go on further about how the food is like. I'm only fond of eating not really the explaining part lol.
Eid Prayers was awesomeeee. MashaAllah. I love theeee crowd :):):) Everyone was all dressed up in their new suits, mostly the brothers did that. We sisters were just wearing our past years' Kurungs (click on link if you don't know what that is) or Abayahs.
So how are your eids going to be? What are you girls wearing? :)
I'm wearing Salwaar Kameez this year. Got tired of all the Kebayas and Kurungs. (Traditional Malay/Indon stuff) LOL.
Desi FTW! lol.
Oh well.
That was Eid morning for me, How was Eid Morning for you? Anyways, Eid Mubarak to us :)

When I'm Muslim, I'm Terrorist.
There's a difference between falling under the category of
1. Ignorant.
2. Uninformed.
Let me ask you.
Is Joseph Kony of the Lords Resistance Army a MUSLIM organisation?
Is the God's Army based in Thailand a MUSLIM organisation?
The Freedomites of Canada?
The Aryan nations and other Christian Identitiygroups?
The Jewish Defense League? The F.B.I describes them as a violent and extremist group.
The Sikh Babbar Khalsa group in India, Punjab ?
The Japanese Aum Shinrikyo group ? They used weapons of mass destruction, sarin gas on the Tokyo subway system.
I could go on and on and on with the list of terrorist organisations that are not owned/led/conducted by MUSLIMS but still, people like YOU, yes YOU, will remain ignorant and stay loyal to the mass media and accuse every Muslim as a terrorist.
I pray 5 times a day, I fast, I wear my veil, I love my Lord & my Prophet, my brothers are taken into prisons and accused to be terrorists and my sisters are accused to be oppressed just because they value the meaning of modesty because I'm MUSLIM.
If all that means I'm a TERRORIST to you then so be it.

Give them a break, they don't need your judgement.

I'm tired of hearing how people term my niqaabi sisters as
1. Oppressed
2. Extreme
Enough is enough, I say.
These women are bravehearts. They are warriors behind their veils. YOU who judge them are just a bunch of ignorant people who are jealous that you are not as courageous as they are to leave your houses covered.
Different people have different perceptions of beauty & I'm sure we have all heard of the very famous phrase -: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
Don't let that amazing philosopher down now.
If YOUR definition of beauty is to go around in your MINIs, leaving only an inch or two of your skins covered then so be it.
Give my Niqaabi sisters for the sake of the very very kind Lord a break.

A'qilah, We need to talk.
Baba: A'qilah I need to speak to you.
Me: Yes baba? Just give me a min, let me sign out of MSN.
Baba: It's okay, just get away from it.
Me: Okay what issit Baba?
Baba: I know that I've not spoken to you for a very very long time and I know that sometimes I tend to forget to remind you of how precious you are to me. So I'm going to do it today.
Me: Okay Baba, go on. I'm listening.
Baba: I love you very very much & I want you to know that I've always been very very proud of you. I don't care if you are not as clever as some of my friends' daughters are but I want you to know that I'm very proud of you. I'm proud that you are practising Muslimah, you lean towards Ukhwah, you wear the Hijab and all. In fact I was and still am very very glad that I didn't even have to force you to wear your Hijab. I want you to study very hard my dear because I know you'll be more successful than myself.
Me: Ji baba, *tearing* Baba, I need to tell you something too.
Baba: What issit sayang?
Me: I like this guy ALOOOOOOOOOOTTTTT and he likes me too but I've told him I can't be with him and all and I want you to know that I did that for you because I know that you will be utterly disappointed with me should I be in a relationship and I cannot afford to disappoint you baba because I love you more.
Baba: Thank you daughter, I knew I could count on you. Now come and give me a hug.
*HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG*
I feel like I'm his lil princess. I love you Baba truly I do. <3

Nothing beats a successful event :)
I am super duper uperrrrr happy that our Ramadhan camp'09 (S.H.A.R.E'09) was a success.
For sure there were flaws and minor mistakes but Alhamdulillah, all were carried out as planned. :) :)
We had a debate on 3 controversial Islam-related topics;
1. Should Muslim Gynaecologists perform abortion?
2. Is "tangkap basah" a good idea? (If you do not know what "tangkap basah" is, that means you have not read my previous posts! boo you :( )
3. Would you send your children to a full-time madrasah (Islamic School) or a Secular National School?
The session was amazingly engaging and subhanaAllah i think we all gained ilm throughout it. It was a good way to open up our minds. Like what one of my comm members said, the debate was but "Spicy, Chilli Padi's Hot Spicy"
The points made were not mere criticism but they were constructive and intellectual opinions & arguments. Well done!
Then we had our tazkirah session & the topic was "Why are we Muslims?". Yet again another enlightening segment of the camp.
We were all supposed to have at least 4 hours of sleep but me being me, i'm insomniac - I only felt sleepy after the 4 hours LOL. Sooooo what happened was myself and 4 other sisters sat at the Mussolah and talked. & Awww Masha'Allah that was the highlight of my camp. :) :) :) <3
We had an "Astronomy in Islam" workshop, a dialogue session with an invited speaker and last but not least Iftar session with the orphans of a Muslim orphanage.
It was soooo amazing, no words could describe the experience.
Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.

Now or Never.

We never know when death chooses to approach us.
Today? Tomorrow? The day after? Only He knows.
"I want to pray, I want to fast and I want to be a better Muslim; but I don't know when."
A common statement made by many Muslims I know.
They have the niyyah to practise but is that enough?
They wish to be guided but do they make the effort to ask for guidance?
"but I don't know when."
Why not now? Do you need a time to make tawbah? Do you need Allah to personally tell you; "My servant, it's time you pray"?
What has He not blessed you with?
Body, Soul, Mind & Heart - it's all in.
He's blessed you with a body - awaken it.
He's blessed you with a soul - liven it.
He's blessed you with a mind - purify it.
He's blessed you with a heart - cleanse it.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? (Surah Ar-Rahman [Chap 55] )
Love Him like how He loves you, it's only right. It's only fair.
Do not speak of Justice if you yourself do not practise it.
Verily, He is the judge above all of mankind.
Give yourself an identity, Take Islam as an Entirety.
Not tomorrow nor the day after - It's now or never, there is no "LATER"
May Allah guide us all. Ameen.

I'll pay back my salah.
HOLA! Que pasa everyone?
yesyes, I'm here again because my attempt to sleep at 11 failed and then I tried again at 2.30 and OBVIOUSLY it was an utter flop; so I'm here at 3.52 to RANT! :D (it seems that rolling on my bed gives me LOADS of inspirations.)
ANYWAY,
I dont know about you but here in Singapore and prolly Malaysia the term "Qada'" is pretty common. I think the Shafii's will be familar with it. So here's my conversation with cousin yesterday.
Me: Eh cousin, I want to go do my Asar first. You go get the stuffs first then we'll head off to granny's together.
Cousin: EHHHH we're late lahhh, you Qada' (Payback) yr asar lahhh*
Me: you think can suka-suka Qada' eh? (You think you can Qada' easily as and when you like?)
Cousin: I have no time for your lectures Missy, we're late. Iftar is early today.
Me: and it will get earlier, so if you could just leave me alone for 5 mins to do my asar; we can have our iftar on time.
Cousin: You better be fast.
Me: Look, I won't die if I iftar 10-15 mins later you know, so if you can't wait then screw you - make your way to granny's first. I must fulfil my obligations to my lord. I can't be bothered to argue with you. BYE!
Cousin: Sheesh, go get yrself a law degree, no one wins when they speak to you.
Me: I know, don't you just love me? Sigh.
*lah - is part of the "Singapore English" (Which obviously is NOT in the english language) it's just an addition on to our conversations because we think they make our sentences sound better.
ANYWAY, as you can see cousin asked me to Qada' my asar.
It's not just cousin. I know many other Singaporean Muslims who'd rather "Qada'" their prayers then fulfil it right away and abandon whatever they are doing for a mere 5 min prayer.
I'm pissed.
I'll kill the next person who asks me to Qada' for NO apparent reason.
FYI, there is no ruling for Qada' in the hadeeth and Qur'an.
Nak masuk neraka tak payah ajak orang eh, aku dah cukup dosa. (WOOO MALAY OR WHAT!)
I SMELL FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!! SUHOOR SUHOOR! :D
Adios amigas!
