Al Mathor

I love love LOVE the weather. It's just been proper bipolar like me. You go out all dressed for a sunny day and then it just starts raining; and when i say rain, it's not just a drizzle, i mean a storm; a thunderstorm. WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Now that's what you call excitement!

The best thing ever is to be caught in the rain LOL. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

I could actually choose to be in the comforts of my own home, accompanied by a cup of tea and some cranberry scones that my mum just bought; working on my assignments OR I could risk going out without an umbrella and come home drenched!

I'm cool with both! LOL :D

SO... While those in the western countries are getting ready for Fall; WE here in Southeast Asia, should appreciate the rain!

I wish Singapore was like England - 200 days of rain in a year. Proper awesome or what? :D

HEEEEEE!

Allah is smiling down on you:)

Mus: I miss Allah, I'll pray tonight and He'll kiss my forehead, all our foreheads.
Me: AWWWW ukhti Subhana'Allah, Allah's smiling down at you now. I love you.

I love you Muslihah Albakri and all of my dear ukhti-s :)
May Allah send His dear angels to wrap their wings around you tonight insha'Allah Ameen.
Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

A man was sitting with the prophet when another one passed. The sitting one said, "O Messenger of Allah! I love this man." The Prophet said, "Have you told him?" The man said, "No." The Prophet said, "Tell him!" The man rose to his feet and went to the man who was passing by and said, "I love you for the sake of Allah." He said, "May Allah whom you love, love you in return!"

(Book #41, Hadith #5106)

"I teach, You shut up and listen"

That's what I see in almost every school or class I attend. Well, not now. Before maybe. I was watching a video about a classroom setting in the United Kingdom and another was how teachers in America manage their childcares.

If' you know me well enough then you'll know how much of a big fan I am of England. Not because of anything else; probably just their language. Please, I love English and we all know that.

Anyway, moving on. The sole problem that I see with our local Singaporean teachers is that they practice a particular culture in their classrooms that restricts our children - to ask questions only at the end of the lesson.

Of course, when I say this, many would come out with a million and one reasons about how teachers in Singapore are to follow a specific syllabus and how it might affect their lessons but then again these questions could be one that fuels the students' interest in your lessons.
It's all about managing your class the way it should be managed.
Should the question asked be one that's not related to the topic you're teaching but nevertheless related to your subject or area of major then you can always push that question to the end of the lesson or ask the student to meet you separately.

The reason why I think teachers should encourage students to ask during the lesson and not after is because it triggers them to think while you're teaching; hence, engaging them in the lesson itself. Sometimes, they might listen but not understand - now that's not learning is it?
Otherwise, our children will only start thinking of questions when they are asked to ask - which isn't really very good is it?

Teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions - let us give our all since we're already in this industry insha'Allah.

Want to donate some rice?

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee this site. It's sooo "my thing".
It tests your English language!
For each answer you get right, 10 grains of rice goes to the UN World food
programme to help end hunger.

GO GO GO GO GO!

Thanks Smiley! ((:

A'qilah Saiere.

When you can't beat the kids, you bloody join them.

We had an excursion to KidsAmaze - it's that place where it's full of child crap and you have to take yr shoes off and put socks on because they are afraid you might poison a child's ball :S LOL.

We were taken there to study PLAY!

No, seriously.

Initially I thought, we were going to OBSERVE how the children play, guess what? NO! We were supposed to PLAY!
LOL.

No, really.

Really.
Seriously.

It was superrrrrrrrrrr fun. I think it's because of my deprived childhood but then again everyone turned 4! No one remembered that they were all 17-18 year olds once we got there.

The kids there were at war with us, they wanted what we wanted. Bloody monsters.

ANYWAY, if you understand malay, you'll understand the jokes here.

A sister's experience in Malaysia.

Sister: Abang Soursop ada?
Shopkeeper: Takder.
Sister: Okay, Durian Belanda Ada?
Shopkeeper: Aah ada.

Syahida: What's Bee?
Me: Lebah.
Syahida: What's Spider?
Me: Tarantula.

Syahida: What's Butterfly?
Syahida: Mentega Terbang
Me: Ruma-Ruma
Mus: Katak

Syahida: You know she said Butterflies in Malay are called "Ruma-Ruma"?
Mas: Those are termites isn't it?
Sofia: Termites kan anai-anai?
Mas: Ohhhhh a'ahhhhhhh!

Sister 1: What's princess in malay?
Sister 2: Permaisuri

Speak Hijab.

I was walking down the interchange with Sister Syahida on Saturday when we saw a Hijabee modestly dressed on top but had a 3/4 pants on.

WHY?
WHY?
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

3/4?????????

:(((((((((((((((((((((((

Saw another one today in leggings - but that's becoming a common sight innit? I see hijabees in leggings everwhere. Those are not pants my dear sisters, those are underwear just that they are long.

Please, wearing the hijab is not fashion, it's an obligation; a responsibility.

Imma send all of you to rehab - Hijab Rehab.

Halloween - Trick or Shirk?

I did a post on V'day so now it's Halloween; soon it'll be Christmas.

Every year hundreds of thousands young children are encouraged to dress-up as devils, witches, ghosts or other types of demonic figures and we have the adults dressing up like idiots and going to pubs and discos to drown themselves in alchohol and do the other stupid stuffs that well... stupid adults do.

As Muslims & responsible guardians of our children, it is important to take all necessary steps to safeguard ourselves & children from any practices that will lead to Hellfire (a punishment which is seventy times hotter than the fires of this world). Allah (SWT) said,

"O you who believe! save yourselves & your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men & stones.." [EMQ 66: 6]

Origins of Halloween: Halloween is a mixture of Paganistic (idol worshipping) & Christian beliefs & practices.

The Pagans believed that during the night of the 31st of October the gods would play tricks/pranks on their worshippers that would bring danger and cause fear on them. To be safeguarded from the mischief of these gods, the worshippers would offer treats to their gods in the form of sacrifices, food, gifts etc. hence the notion "Trick or Treat". In current times children as well as adults dress up as creatures of the evil, scaring people (i.e. trick) unless they give a sacrifice (i.e. a treat).

For the Christians, Halloween is a celebration of all the Saints (devout Christians) that have passed away or were martyred/killed in the path of serving and establishing Christianity. Christians would spend the night before (31st October) in holding all night vigils remembering them and making special supplications for them.

To summarize Halloween is:

1. Belief in evil gods
2. Imitating evil gods
3. Offering sacrifice to evil gods to be free from their mischief
4. A non-Islamic celebration/festival
5. Remembering & praying for a dead Christian activist

Based on the above mentioned points, it is clear that celebrating Halloween is against the fundamental belief of Islam itself which is the Believe in one God and no other deity is worth worship but Him.

Thus,
Halloween is a form of Shirk and disobedience introduced by Shaytaan in the form of a trick, enjoyment and celebration. Therefore do not participate in this evil, do not purchase any item to do with Halloween, do not let your children go knocking from door to door for treats, do not give any treats, warn your family members, warn your relatives, warn other Muslims and the non-Muslims about this great evil.

content in italics are from -www.islam4uk.com

So Muslims, enough of celebrating Paganistic Celebrations. Are Eid-ul Fitr, Eid-il Adha, Ramadhan, Mawlid Un Nabi not sufficient?
Besides, I see no thrill in the belief of Evil Gods BECAUSE if God is Evil why bother worshipping? :S

OH OH YOU ANTI SEMITE!

Listen up folks, I'm saying this for the last time. I DO NOT HATE JEWS.

I do not hate Jews because if I hate them, it'd mean I'm racist isn't it? and I am not, because no muslim should be racist.

I hate Zionists - people who support the illegal occupation of Israel in Palestine.
You don't have to be a Jew to be a Zionist; I am a Zionist. - Joe Biden

For your kind information, I am not forcing everyone to boycott Israeli products. It's not a religious obligation. But then again it's your choice, it's your perception. The reason as to why I see it as a religious obligation is because I look upon Palestine as a holy land because of Al Quds & our Masjidil Aqsa in Quds. By buying Israeli products that contributes to the funds that are killing my brothers and sisters in Palestine and the occupation in my holy land, I am indirectly/directly FUNDING the people who are stripping me off my holy land.

Don't ask me to come up with Qur'anic Verses or Hadeeths etc that says we should boycott Israel ; they aren't any BUT Allah & His Prophet (pbuh) has always emphasised on how we should always protect our brothers and sisters and liberate them from oppression.

If we cannot do a simple job like this one,how are we to live up to that Sunnah? Don't speak about Jihad Qital, this itself is Jihad.

So stop asking me stupid questions like "Why can't I buy that Israeli Product? The sources are from Allah's creation"

Who told you not to buy it? If you don't mind living with the guilt of not helping your brothers and sisters in the littlest way that you can, then live with it but I can't.

So stop trying to force me to eat McDonald's & Drink Coke because I won't.
& Don't call me an anti-semite you idiots. The Qur'an is in a Semitic Language! I can't be an anti-semite when my prophet was from a semite descent and my holy book is in a Semitic Language. tsk.

This is how I live, I have my principles and I stick with them. If you can't live with it then you live with yrs.

To you be yr way, to me mine.

A'qilah Saiere.

The Qur'an and it's Wonders.

Rabi’ ibn Sulayman (a companion of Imam al-Shafi’i) said:
‘We were with al-Shafi’i one day when an old man wearing garments of wool came to us with a walking-stick in his hand. Al-Shafi’i stood up, fixed his clothes and greeted the old man. He sat down and al-Shafi’i began looking at him in admiration when the man said:

Old man: Can I ask?
Al-Shafi’i: Ask.
Old man: What is the Hujjah (evidence) in the religion of Allah?
Al-Shafi’i: The Book of Allah.
Old man: What else?
Al-Shafi’i: The Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam).
Old man: What else?
Al-Shafi’i: The consensus of the Ummah.
Old man: Where did you get ‘consensus of the Ummah’ from? (i.e. what’s your evidence).
Al-Shafi’i pondered for a moment when the old man said:
Old man: I will leave you for 3 days. If you come up with evidence from the Book of Allah, fine. If not, then repent to Allah Ta’ala.

Al-Shafi’i’s face changed colour and then he left. He didn’t come out until the third day, between dhuhr and ‘asr. His face, hands and legs had swollen and he became ill.(Subhan'Allah) He sat down but it was only a short while when the old man returned. He greeted him and sat down then he said,

Old man: Do you have what I asked for?

Al-Shafi’i: Yes.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast.
Allah, the Most High said:
وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ الرَّسُولَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ الْهُدَى وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِ مَا تَوَلَّى وَنُصْلِهِ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَاءتْ مَصِيراً
“And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the way of the believers, We shall keep him on the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell – and what an evil destination.” [al-Nisa: 115]
… And He (Allah `azza wa jall) will not burn him in Hell for opposing the believers in something except that it is something obligatory.’

Old man: You have told the truth.
Then he got up and left.

Al-Shafi’i then said to those around him: I read the Qur’an 3 times every day (in the 3 days he was given), until I came to this verse.’
- Siyar A’lam al-Nubala

It’s the case that sometimes, the Qur’an reveals its gems and answers at different times and on different occasions. Even if we may have read a particular verse many times before, it will suddenly sink in with us differently at another time.

As they say, ‘لا تنقضي عجائبه ‘ – its wonders never cease.

May Allah grant us good understanding of His Book. Ameen Ya Rabb.

Each religion has it's own set of scriptures. Out of the 4 books from Allah swt (the Torah, Psalms, the Gospel and the Qur'an) only the Qur'an is the only book that has not been distorted because Allah swt has promised to safeguard the contents of the Qur'an.

There is nothing that the Qur'an doesn't answer. Nothing at all. The formation of a foetus? Astronomy? You ask, and insha'Allah the Qur'an will answer.

The problem with the people at the Masjid

I had to rush for Maghrib at the Masjid in Eunos earlier because if I had not done that I was sure to miss it because traffic in that area is RUBBISH. So I made my way to the Masjid alone because the girls (all of them :( ) had something on.

Anyway so yeah, I entered by the main entrance. When I mean MAIN, I mean there is no sign "Only Muslimin" or "Only Muslimah". Besides, it wasn't my first time praying at the mosque and I jolly well know which gate to enter and where the Muslimah's Mussolah was. So yes, moving on, I placed my shoes on the racks and rushed off to do my Salah.

1. The minute I entered the Muslimah's Mussolahs - the Aunties were STARING at me because of God knows what reason. (Screw that)
2. A lady at the toilet SCANNED me. What the... (Screw that one too)
3. When I was leaving the Masjid and wearing my shoes, a brother entered the Masjid and sent off some freaking sarcastic remark that went like this "Sigh, I didn't know this was the Muslimah's section. What is happening to the teens these days."(In Malay)

WTF.

THANK GOD it was a Masjid and he was an elder if NOT....
I shall not complete my sentence.

Oh and people there really isn't a need for Public Display of Affection. Keep your boyfriends to yourselves. wth. No one cares whether he bought you chocolates or roses the next day or if he surprised you at the doorstep on a Saturday night. no seriously, I AM NOT BOTHERED WHETHER YOU ARE GOING ON A DATE, I dont care if even when you have a boyfriend you have 1001 guys at the back of yr hands. i swear i dont give no sh*t. imma kick yr damn arse if you tell me stupid things i dont need to know.
Oh and just because I say this dont come around telling me "You're just jealous because you don't have a boyfriend". You make me ROFLMAO. Seriously.

I'm out of here.

First Day Blues.

No one was in any mood to study. Weather was crazy hot. I was dressed in black (whose smart idea was it? *stares at syahida*). No one was listening to the lectures, okay wait at least I WASNT :P lol.

The poor dudette in front was going on and on about child play and behind the girls and I were busy discussing about what they should wear for their dinner and dance lol (I AM NOT GOING GIRLS. SORRY! )

Everyone's going mad at this juncture. No one wants to study anymore. Some even forgot how to hold their pens the right way to write :/ I think we just need a little warming up and inshaAllah Khayer.

To prove that everyone's not in the right state of mind, here's a little conversation with a sister on the bus ride home.

Me: I had to watch videos on kids playing. and there was one that was especially cute that I wanted to fry him.

Mas: Ukhti why are you frying BABIES?! Oh, I had to watch an hour video on stem cells and errr i love looking at bacteria moving under the microscope. It's soooooooo cute! I named one squigy. hehehehe!

I told you.

Go watch this and Thank Allah.

I love Ahmed Bukhatir. His nasheeds are like a slap to my face.
Oh God, Forgive me when I whine.

A'qilah Saiere

Someone please give me a title.

I couldn't think of a title good enough so live with that for now lol. The weekend was sick. (like literally lol)

I was down with Food Poisoning & Fever. On Friday night, it was madness; I could not get up from my bed at all. I stayed in the whole day and I woke up every 30 minutes to vomit. I could take in nothing at all. My body rejected everything, even the medicines. My Parents nearly brought me to the A&E at the nearest hospital because it was so bad and besides it's been some time since I fell that ill so everyone was freaking out. My aunt had her womb removed because she had an infection. Granny had fever too but alhamdulillah it wasn't too bad.

On Saturday I went to the doc and Mr Doc said I got low blood pressure. SOOOOO that's not much of a good news. Apparently i need to eat more meat and greens and and and drink more water. Errr lol. Okay Insha'Allah Khayer.

On a brighter note, Parents bought me a new phone! (FINALLY) Alhamdulillah :)

What else...

Erm, school starts tomorrow. So it'd be back to the typical routine and insha'Allah I'll be able to clinch a better GPA in the upcoming semester. My modules sound retarded - Creative Arts? Language Arts? (I'm fine with the latter but errghhh creative arts? Child crap much? yeh i think so)
Imma go die, they increased the Attachment hours to 6 hrs. 3 hrs with 10 kids is enough to kill me, now 6? HAHA, sounds REAAAAALLLLYYYY fun. I'm SOOOOO looking forward to it.

Okay enough of this sh*t. I got ironing to do for the week. Sigh.

And Please keep yr debates off my blog people, Here for the Hereafter is not the Arena, thanks.

Limitations.

I've noticed that many a times when we're in a friendship, we tend to go all out and overlook all forms of limitations. Be it, it's a friendship between a boy and a girl or of the same sexes.

Sisters, when you're around your guy friends, I know that they are for sure just your friends and whatever you do with them, you mean no lust or whatever but you have to bear in mind that behind that friendship, behind all of that, you are a Muslimah, you have to make sure you stay as modest as you can be. You don't get all overzealous just because you think it's alright to act that way to a friend. He's still a Muslimin and He's still a non-muhrim.

And I know that many a times we tend to joke around with our circle of friends but then again even jokes have limitations. You do not say something really really offensive and then try to get away with it with an excuse of a friendship. It's alright to be joking around but it's NOT alright when you cross your limits.

Mutual Respect is key in friendships. Make sure you keep that in mind.

I think this was cute.

I have a habit of going through my writings and reading my stories and poems again and again. I was going through my stack of work today and I found this, which I thought was well... cute enough to be on my blog LOL :P I bet I wrote this one on one of those days I saw a crush running away with another girl LOL!

They say love is beautiful,

They say love is pure,

But if you’re not careful,

You’re going to break a heart for sure.

Some say love is a myth,

Some say love is a gift,

I say love is a mystery,

And sometimes it makes me all jittery.

Romeo was an idiot,

Juliet was one too,

Because we all know that,

Only the Lord’s love for us is true.

There is no prince charming on a white horse coming for you,

Just like what the romantic novels are telling you,

Cinderella never existed and snow white too,

So let’s accept the fact that what’s ugly is but true.

A'qilah Saiere.

Let's share a little laughter.

I met my darling sisters today anddddd this was what happened.

Haziqah: EHHH we should catch the movie, it's coming out in fall. which is next year right?

Me: HUH? Fall is next year? Fall comes before winter, it's coming out soon. HAHAHAHAHA.

Haziqah: Syahida when is fall?
Syahida: *checks watch* 5.24PM

HAHAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAH WTH. Sigh.

And then myself and Sister Syahida went for dinner with Brothers Asyraf and Shaiful since they were already in the vicinity.

Shaiful: Qilah, have you caught the movie"the boy in strip pyjamas"?
Me: HUH? no. Strip?
Shaiful: Strip, you know strip? (doing actions on his shirt referring to stripe)
Me: OHHH STRIPE!
All of us: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Sigh, see why I emphasise on the importance of proper english?

1.57 billion muslimz in zee worldz.

(CNN) -- Nearly one in four people worldwide is Muslim -- and they are not necessarily where you might think, according to an extensive new study that aims to map the global Muslim population.

India, a majority-Hindu country, has more Muslims than any country except for Indonesia and Pakistan, and more than twice as many as Egypt.

China has more Muslims than Syria.

Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon.

And Russia has more Muslims than Jordan and Libya put together.

Nearly two out of three of the world's Muslims are in Asia, stretching from Turkey to Indonesia.

The Middle East and north Africa, which together are home to about one in five of the world's Muslims, trail a very distant second.

There are about 1.57 billion Muslims in the world, according to the report, "Mapping the Global Muslim Population," by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. That represents about 23 percent of the total global population of 6.8 billion.

There are about 2.25 billion Christians, based on projections from the 2005 World Religions Database.

Brian Grim, the senior researcher on the Pew Forum project, was slightly surprised at the number of Muslims in the world, he told CNN.

"Overall, the number is higher than I expected," he said, noting that earlier estimates of the global Muslim population have ranged from 1 billion to 1.8 billion.

The report can -- and should -- have implications for United States policy, said Reza Aslan, the best-selling Iranian-American author of "No God but God."
Fact Box

Report: Top 10 Muslim countries, by population

1. Indonesia: 202,867,000 (country is 88.2 percent Muslim)

2. Pakistan: 174,082,000 (country is 96.3 percent Muslim)

3. India: 160,945,000 (country is 13.4 percent Muslim)

4. Bangaldesh: 145,312,000 (country is 89.6 percent Muslim)

5. Egypt: 78,513,000 (country is 94.6 percent Muslim)

6. Nigeria: 78,056,000 (country is 50.4 percent Muslim)

7. Iran: 73,777,000 (country is 99.4 percent Muslim)

8. Turkey: 73,619,000 (country is about 98 percent Muslim)

9. Algeria: 34,199,000 (country is 98 percent Muslim)

10. Morocco: 31,993,000 (country is about 99 percent Muslim)

Source: "Mapping the Global Muslim Population," The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

"Increasingly, the people of the Middle East are making up a smaller and smaller percentage of the worldwide Muslim community," he told CNN by phone.

"When it comes to issues of outreach to the Muslim world, these numbers will indicate that outreach cannot be focused so narrowly on the Middle East," he said.

"If the goal is to create better understanding between the United States and the Muslim world, our focus should be on south and southeast Asia, not the Middle East," he said.

He spoke to CNN before the report was published and without having seen its contents, but was familiar with the general trends the report identified.

The team at the Pew Forum spent nearly three years analyzing "the best available data" from 232 countries and territories, Grim said.

Their aim was to get the most comprehensive snapshot ever assembled of the world's Muslim population at a given moment in time.

So they took the data they gathered from national censuses and surveys, and projected it forward based on what they knew about population growth in each country.

They describe the resulting report as "the largest project of its kind to date."

It's full of details that even the researchers found surprising.

"There are these countries that we don't think of as Muslim at all, and yet they have very sizable numbers of Muslims," said Alan Cooperman, the associate director of research for the Pew Forum, naming India, Russia and China.

One in five of the world's Muslims lives in a country where Muslims are a minority.

And while most people think of the Muslim population of Europe is being composed of immigrants, that's only true in western Europe, Cooperman said.

"In the rest of Europe -- Russia, Albania, Kosovo, those places -- Muslims are an indigenous population," he said. "More than half of the Muslims in Europe are indigenous."

The researchers also were surprised to find the Muslim population of sub-Saharan Africa to be as low as they concluded, Cooperman said.

It has only about 240 million Muslims -- about 15 percent of all the world's Muslims.

Islam is thought to be growing fast in the region, with countries such as Nigeria, which has large populations of both Christians and Muslims, seeing violence between the two groups.

The Pew researchers concluded that Nigeria is just over half Muslim, making it the sixth most populous Muslim country in the world.

Roughly nine out of 10 Muslims worldwide are Sunni, and about one in 10 is Shiite, they estimated.

They warned they were less confident of those numbers than of the general population figures because sectarian data is harder to come by.

"Only one or two censuses in the world ... have ever asked the sectarian question," said Grim.

"Among Muslims it's a very sensitive question. If asked, large numbers will say I am just a Muslim -- not that they don't know, but it is a sensitive question in many places," he said.

One in three of the world's Shiite Muslims lives in Iran, which is one of only four countries with a Shiite majority, he said. The others are Iraq, Azerbaijan, and Bahrain.

Huge as the project of mapping the world's Muslim population is, it is only the first step in a Pew Forum undertaking.

Next year, the think tank intends to release a report projecting Muslim population growth into the future, and then the researchers intend to do the whole thing over again with Christians, followed by other faith groups.

"We don't care only about Muslims," Grim said.

They're also digging into what people believe and practice, since the current analysis doesn't analyze that.

"This is no way reflects the religiosity of people, only their self-identification," Grim said. "We're trying to get the overall picture of religion in the world."

When we say Islam is the truth and Allah swt is the greatest, We mean it because it's true.
In your face Islamophobes.

But but... I can't live without it... :(

I had this conversation with little brother & Mother earlier.

Amir: Sister, what are you doing to Ummi's groceries?

Me: Checking the barcodes and Halal certs. why?

Amir: Oh... Why Barcodes? Like ummi will buy Israeli Products.

Me: Yeah right, look at this. Persimmons. "Product of Israel" with Hebrew writing on it. UMMI!!!

Amir: oh oh... I'm out of here.

Me: Mi, this is Israeli. Do you know that?

Ummi: :O :O :O Yeah i know... but I didn't buy it. My friend just came back from Jerusalem and she bought me Persimmons because she knows I love them.

Me: Ergh... I'm not eating these. Oh and it's Al Quds not Jerusalem or whatever you choose to call it.

Ummi: Okay, if it suits you.

Amir: Ummi can I have Mcdonald's for breakfast this Sunday? Please?

Me: No.

Amir: I'm not talking to you.

Me: But I am talking to YOU. You're not eating Mac. Period.

Amir: But it's delicious! and like what I heard what your friend's friend's friend said, it's franchise so the money doesn't go to Israel.

Me: Whatever it is, I don't see the need for you to consume junk food. It really is junk. & when you're older and you are saved from an ateriole blockage or cardiac arrest, I swear you're going to thank me for it.

Ummi: I told you, you were going to lose.

Me: Finish these Persimmons ASAP. I can't stand that box thing in my house.

Reports say that Israeli military personnel were confronting Palestinian teenagers who were throwing stones at the time of the incident.

A Palestinian official said the vehicle deliberately ran over the boy. The Israeli military called it an accident.

The army said the car hit Fuad Turkman after developing mechanical problems and it was investigating the incident.

The incident happened outside a school in Yabad, a town of 14,000 people in an agricultural area with high levels of unemployment.

Tensions have been high in Palestinian areas since Israeli security forces used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse 150 Palestinian protesters at the al-Aqsa mosque compound in East Jerusalem on 28 September.

Palestinian protesters had thrown rocks at visitors to the mosque who they said were Jewish extremists, but Israel officials said were foreign tourists.

Earlier, reports from Gaza said two Palestinians were killed and two others wounded by an Israeli airstrike that followed rocket fire from Gaza into Israel.

Palestinian medical sources said the raid targeted three smuggling tunnels between Gaza and Egypt. Israel has confirmed the air strike, .
