Verily, with hardship comes ease.

I love love love that verse of the Qur'an! (Chapter 94:2 I think...)

Because it's sooooo true masha'Allah!

It's been crazy. I swear, everything, just EVERYTHING is crazy. BUT, I'm happy.
I'm soooooooooo upset over the workload yet happy that I'm not idling my time away.
I'm upset that we have dues to meet in 1-2 weeks time and we still have lesson plans implementation and field supervisions to worry about yet I'm happy that with every step we take, we're learning something new.

I love how we're all so depressed over the workload yet so happy that we have people sticking by us and mourning over the same crap.

You know what this is? - it's the definition of BIPOLAR

Nevertheless, I'm thankful.

Inna ma'al usri yusra; Verily, with Hardship comes ease.

My cousins were mocking me about boycotting Israel on eid and they even resorted to drinking coke in front of me but LOL; they are just making me laugh at their ignorance.

Is this Haram?

I've been hearing about how dyeing your hair BLACK, as in literally JET BLACK is haram (forbidden). I asked some brothers and sisters and they've given certain daleels that are out to prove that yes, the latter is forbidden.

Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullah reported that Abu Quhaafah was brought on the day of the conquest of Makkah, and his head and beard were white like "thaghaamah" (a plant whose flowers and fruit are white). The Messenger of Allaah (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: "Change this with something, but avoid black." (Reported by Muslim, no. 3962).

Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allaah (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: ‘At the end of time there will be people who will dye their hair black like the crops of pigeons. They will never even smell the fragrance of Paradise." (reported by Imam Ahmad, see also Saheeh al-Jaami‘, no. 8153).

It was also reported from the Prophet (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) that one should change grey hair, using any colour except black. Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: "The best things with which to change grey hair are henna and ‘katam’ (a plant similar to henna which is used as a dye)." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no. 1675; he said: This is a saheeh hasan hadeeth).

Dyeing hair with pure black dye is Haraam because the Prophet (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: "Avoid black," and because of the threat of punishment reported with regard to this matter. This ruling applies to both men and women.

But if the black dye is mixed with another colour, so that it is no longer black, there is nothing wrong with it.

[See Fatawa Islamiyyah, 4/424, and Fatawa al-mar’ah al-Muslimah, 2/520.]
_____________________________

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen ( may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

If the hair is dyed black, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade that when he commanded a man to change his white hair, but to avoid black. He said: “Change this white hair but avoid black.” (See Saheeh Muslim, 5476). A stern warning has also been narrated to the one who does that, namely the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “There will be people at the end of time who will dye their hair black like the crops of birds; they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4212; al-Nasaa’i, 8/138; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 8153). This indicates that it is forbidden to change the hair with black dye. With regard to changing it with different colours of dye, the basic principle is that it is permissible, unless it is done in the manner of kaafir women or immoral women, in which case it is forbidden for that reason, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4031; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 5/109).

[Majmoo’ Fataawa wa Rasaa’il Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 4/121.]

- Brother IProtecttheinnocent & Brother Omar of Dawn of the Ummah

Insha'Allah Khayer. To those who are asking "Why particularly black" I think it's like asking "Why is pork haram?"
Allah knows what is best for us, insha'Allah we leave it to Him to decide why not dyeing our hair black is the best for us.

Marriage talks and an Arab spouse.

The reason to the title is because I had a conversation with my parents about an ideal future spouse and this is what they had to say.

Me: Sister Fatin's planning to get me hooked up with an arab guy; one of her cousin's or some long distant relative and Nada loves the idea.

Umi: AWWW NICE! Ask her to get one for you that's inshaAllah very polite and practising. There is no need for him to be good looking or rich; you just need a good person who can support you and guide you for this life and the hereafter.

Baba: CAN! I approve.

Fatin and Nada wants me to be married off to an Arab, Umi's sisters want me to complete the family tradition and marry an indian, Baba would be more than happy to see me married off to an Indonesian, Sisters Sofia and Haziqah are planning to hook me up to some Malay guy they know but I say, I say, I don't care if he's arab or non-arab, if he eats falafel or burgerdale(Malay potato cake); Insha'Allah he's a good Muslim :)

:/ LOL.

Speaking of arabs, I'm craving for falafel and beshamel! :(

The Eid Project.

How do you spend your Eid Ul Adha usually? Here, as far as I know, Eid Ul Adha is not given much of an importance. No one really celebrates it with any form of enthusiasm at all. You get people shopping for Eid Ul Fitr a month in advance but no one gives a crap about Eid Ul Adha. Sad, truly, it's just really really sad. :(

That is why I'm here to make you eid a little more special!

The Eid Project.
Many of us tend to forget about the importance of Charity in our lives as Muslims. So today, I want all of you to participate in this project insha'Allah.
It truly isn't anything much at all. All you need to do is make the "niyah" or intention to donate at least £1 or SG$2.54 to anyone that insha'Allah needs charity.
Take it as a form of Zakah.
It really isn't a huge amount of money and insha'Allah everyone of us here in the blogosphere can afford it.
It does not have to be just in the form of money, to those who will be performing Qurbani, insha'Allah you can donate your meat to the poor/needy.

It'll be even better if all of you who are taking part/giving charity this eid leave a comment here on this post so that at the end of 30/11/09; we can all calculate how much we've all chosen to give :)

"I will donate SG$2.54 or more this Eid and so will my family members insha'Allah"

"Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said : Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you."
[Bukhari and Muslim]

Will you choose to make a difference? Donate this Eid!

That's what Ukhtis do.

You know when you're hungry and you don't have the appetite to eat, when your head is throbbing like mad and your nose is blocked and you have to breathe from your mouth which makes your throat all dry and to top all of it, your heart aches from the lil lil depressing things that has been happening in your life (LIKE YOUR NOTEBOOK'S SCREEN SCREWS UP WHEN YOU'RE HALFWAY THROUGH YOUR ESSAY); all you need to mend that wounded little heart is this -:

"Aqilah we're meeting tomorrow i wanna hug you and then i wanna make you feel everything is alright and then i want you to know that your problem is my problem cos youre my ukhti and thats what ukhtis do. I love you so much I can kill mima (her favourite pet cat) for you."

Besides the fact that you spelt my name without the ( ' ), that has to be the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. You, my dear, are the definition of a sister in this life and the hereafter. There is no need for you to kill your cat because i love him too.

To the girls that bought me a dozen donuts, you girls are the best. Especially the one that decides to buy the apple cinnamon one :P I LOVE CINNAMON :)
MWAH I love you girls to death!

I need to breathe.

Allah, I feel suffocated.
Allah I need you.
Allah, i want you to hug me.
I want you to kiss my forehead.
I want you to keep me warm as I turn in in bed.
I love you, Allah.
I need you.

Silence is my company.

Fatema Rocks. No, really she does. If you need a laugh, she's the best person ever. Allah Y5lele eyake w Y7meke Ya Rabb.

The night is exceptionally beautiful, its silence is keeping me company. Well, besides the broken candles and unscented pot-pourri.

I got this off a good book and thought it'd be nice to share -:
Be optimistic, for Allah is with you, and the angels are praying for forgiveness for you, and the Paradise awaits you. Insha'Allah Ameeeeeeeen!

Thank you fiefie for the drafts on my phone, ziqy for the beautiful messages and didi for the bus ride home. You girls are beautiful people. Allah Bless Y'all.
Thr comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the ptless drama and the ppl who create it and surround yrslf w ppl who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad & solely focus on the good. After all, life's too short to be anything but happy.

OH did i mention, Obama's in town? Like in Singapore yeah. - Or is he still on his way? not too sure. but yeah; look at this.

Me: Obama's coming to Singapore - their meeting's at suntec; city hall.
Syahida: How is he getting there? Bus?
Me: -.-
Syahida: I get it, they're walking.
Me: HELLO! It's city hall! They're OBVIOUSLY getting there by MRT ( Train) DUH.
Syahida: HAHAHAHAHAHA, You're turning into me.
Me: I thought so.

Right, I got to get back to my lesson plans. Bye people. Love you like the new body wash my mum bought.

Qils. (LOL)

I have a red phone.

My father told this in my face today; for the second time - "You don't have a life"

Thanks. I so needed that Baba.
Oh and he thinks I suck at art. (What a Revelation, I didn't know)

Later, he felt bad and brought me to a stationery shop to get me new notebooks and some files.

Father thinks I'm a boring person because my life revolves around the news and politics; and when I get all artsy and speak about high fashion and music, he calls me high priced. TSK.

Whatever father, I have a red phone; I know you bought it for me - but I'm still cooler than you think I am.

I was just thinking about it again. The Singapore zoo names tigers using Muslim names like Omar.
1. It's either they're trying to say Muslims are aggressive.
2. They're trying to say we're the kings of the jungle.

Whatever it is, I'm kinda thankful we're the Bengal white tigers not the sheep at some other enclosure LOL.

He will get it fixed.

I'm sorry you're broken.
I wish I could fix it but I'm shattered myself.
I will confide in Him to take the pain away from us.
I know you know how much I love you because I know that's how much you love me.

A'qilah.

We're all in this together.

One Ukhti gets upset and that's it, the rest just lose every bit of smile and laughter.
But we want you to know that we're in this with you together.
We love you.
Allah loves you too.
Mus, we love you; we really do.

Fatin Bamadhaj ( I swear, I love your last name)
Thank you very very much for today.
I love you.
Really.
I swear, I'll buy pretty baby clothes from BHG - the Winnie the Pooh ones for yr baby Insha'Allah :P

I forgot to tell you something ukhti,
I asked Allah to decide if our friendship was right. If it was, I asked Him to keep it strong and ongoing and if it's otherwise, I promised Him I'll still keep you in my prayers.
He gave me His answer today.
Thank you very much habibty.

"We're like siblings"
I say, more than that <3

Who are you to not forgive when Allah forgives you?

Two friends Ismail and Ibrahim were walking through the desert, as the sun was beating down on their heads, and they were thirsty for water they began to argue. The argument got more and more heated and eventually Ismail struck Ibrahim across the face. Ibrahim felt hurt inside, but without anything to say, he wrote in the sand: "Today, my best friend slapped me in the face."

They kept on walking, until eventually they came across an oasis, where they decided to stop and bathe. Ibrahim jumped in and began to wash, while Ismail sat back and relaxed. Suddenly Ibrahim began to scream and shout, he had developed a cramp and was having difficulty keeping his head above water, he was drowning.

Ismail dived in after him, and brought him gently to shore. When Ibrahim recovered from the shock, he scratched a message on a nearby stone:

"Today, my best friend saved my life"

Ismail who had saved and slapped his best friend Ibrahim, asked him, "Why, after I hurt you, you wrote in the sand, and now you write on a stone?"

Ibrahim, smiled and replied:

"When a friend hurts us, we should write his deeds in the sand, where the winds of forgiveness can blow it away, and when a friend does something good, we should engrave it in stone, where it shall remain for eternity."

"Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant (i.e. don't punish them). If a suggestion from Satan assails your mind, seek refuge with Allah; for He heareth and knoweth (all things)"
[surah al-A'raf, 7:199-200]

Dawn Of The Ummah.

A'qilah Saiere.

Man and Baby.

I was in 7 eleven to grab something for a bite because I was just proper hungry (I still am) considering my last meal was lunch at 1. So I was just in the mart, taking a sandwich out of the freezer when a man approached me. He had a sweet looking baby boy asleep in his arms. The brother was around his late 20s and had a milk bottle filled with plain water in his other hand.

He approached to ask if I could speak malay and I answered yes; the conversation went like this.

(In Malay)
Brother: Lil Sister, I need to get to woodlands; what's the bus from here?
Me: You have to take a bus down to the 4th busstop from here and then take Bus 168.
Brother: Subhana'Allah I only have a dollar left in my bus card.
Me: Oh brother just wait a second.
*places sandwich back to freezer & checks wallet*
Me: Brother, i only have 3 dollars left is that enough insha'Allah?
Brother: yes yes sister, Subhana'Allah thank you so so much, May Allah reward you.
Me: you're welcomed brother. Please take your child home safely insha'Allah.

I walked out of the shop with him; this time with a filled stomach.

A'qilah

If only people cared about more important things.

I was walking back home earlier today from the bus stop and I overheard a conversation between a couple. No really, I overheard, wasn't eavesdropping. They were speaking about who was going to win Singapore Idol this season. -.-"

No, really, why is it that people care about such unimportant things? Sure, these people can sing but how will their amazing voices feed the people in Africa and free Palestine from Israel?
Really.
Why do people care about things like what Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are doing to their children and whether Britney Spears is taking in extra calories.
WHY?

Why is it that people bother about such proper RUBBISH things but start to turn off when someone starts speaking about the wars that are going on around the world, when someone speaks about the climate changes, about the importance of English Language, or what message the painting that's hanging on the wall of your school hallway carries, or when someone speaks about a child in Africa dying of starvation or the importance of modesty?!

WHY
WHY
WHYYYYYYYYYYYY?!

If Britney Spears takes in extra calories, her health is affected NOT yours or the rest of the worlds' population. If Brad Pitt breaks up with Angelina Jolie and goes back to Jennifer Aniston Imma be proper ecstatic but that's not going to free Palestine or get the American troops out of Iraq or neither is it going to feed one more child in Africa. So why bother about them when you have other things to bother about?
Really.

If only people cared about more important things.

I skipped in the rain.

I love how we're all huggly when we meet each other, how we get proper excited when we meet one another, how we feel 16 hrs without talking to one another is as good as an eternity. I love how we're bipolar and b*tchy at the same time. I love how we get excited over Abu Hurairah (ra) and how he had cats with him all the time. I love how we're all so imperfect yet so lovely together. We're like a family; A really happy family.

I love how we coordinate our dress colours every start of the week, report extra early for school to have breakfast together, our silly 2 hr long late lunches at the college's alumni, our bumpy bus rides home, our "let's try to not to laugh at her horrendous English because she's our lecturer" moments; I love how we hate that we eat so much yet don't give a crap and continue eating anyway; This friendship we share is truly more precious than any diamond.

Fatema Ben-Jadei;
I'm not going to insert a picture here but nevertheless you play an important part in my life.
We've not spoken since like forever. The parcel that I was meaning to send to you for Eid is still rotting in my wardrobe - I promise I will send it to you soon insha'Allah.
I've said this 9239483982 times but I'm going to say anyway.
We don't speak much now. You're on my blog and I'm on yours ; If not, we're on DOTU.
But that doesn't mean I've forgotten you.
In fact, Blabber I don't think I'd ever forget you.
We might lose touch and all of that crap but it's impossible to forget someone like you (unless I lose my memory for some reason I don't know - na'uzudbillah lol) - now i'm letting the person that came up with "nothing is impossible" down. LOL.
& the reason why I'm saying this is because whenever I think of Palestine, I'm reminded of you. Not just you; rather, your door (LOL), your posts on our shared blog, your comments on random Zionists' YT pages, our conversations about Bipolar & other random stuff that we talk about, that picture of the timings of the world & Singapore was one of them that you have on Mama's phone, the knowledge that you've shared with me etc.
You are a gem to the Ummah, truly you are.
Thank you; I l*v* you. - If I lived in Manchester, I swear I'd be yr one faithful stalker. Unfortunately, just unfortunately, I'm some a million miles away.

Nada Assaf
I don't know what to say about you at all. I'm not going to type anything.
I love this woman too much, it's shocking.
You have no idea.
(She won't read this anyway LOL)

Allah is too kind. He loves me. He really does. He's blessed me with all these beautiful people and He gave me the opportunity to skip in the rain today; Yes I did. I walked around the campus while it was raining - truly is a beautiful feeling to be kissing the skies' tears on your lips Masha'Allah :)

I love you Allah, because You are just so amazing.

You don't really want to read this...

... but oh well if you want to it's fine. I'm just going to go on ranting about how life is for me. I really think I'm an ungrateful piece of crap. When I had 3 months of holiday, I was complaining about how there really isn't any work for me and that I'm proper bored every day and my brain was going to die anytime. NOW that I'm back at school, I've come to realise that work is no fun at all!

I have 3 essays due in say 14 days? and I have my Islamic Diploma essay to worry about. YAY ME!

My attachment hours have been increased and now, I have to come up with lesson plans for 4-5 year olds to teach them how to form a sculpture and paint something that's related to Animals.
Wait, there's more! I have to execute these lesson plans. AWWWW sounds like fun isn't it? ( I'll kill you if you agree)

But on a brighter note, I'm not bored nor am I rotting away so yes, I shall look at this from a more positive point of view and seize it with gusto and enthusiasm! tsk. I sound like those people your parents send you to when you are about to give up for your final exams.

I NEED TO START READING! (Oh what a revelation!) No, really. I do. LOL. Or imma die. I need to start reading up.
I still am loving the weather.
I bought a new belt.
I start school at 1 tmr.
I love Bananas.
& Apples.
& Onions.

I HAD FALAFEL YESTERDAY! ((: hee.

I want to get an abayah.
I don't think I'm going to KL with my parents. I can't really be bothered.
I was writing my essay outside a masjid earlier today because Sister Syahida was too lazy to walk back to the library. OH Smiley fyi, it was a Masjid at ARAB st :P :P :P

And I love Syahida for the crap she comes up with; Read this -:
