Is this Haram?
I've been hearing about how dyeing your hair BLACK, as in literally JET BLACK is haram (forbidden). I asked some brothers and sisters and they've given certain daleels that are out to prove that yes, the latter is forbidden.
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allaah (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: ‘At the end of time there will be people who will dye their hair black like the crops of pigeons. They will never even smell the fragrance of Paradise." (reported by Imam Ahmad, see also Saheeh al-Jaami‘, no. 8153).
It was also reported from the Prophet (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) that one should change grey hair, using any colour except black. Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: "The best things with which to change grey hair are henna and ‘katam’ (a plant similar to henna which is used as a dye)." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no. 1675; he said: This is a saheeh hasan hadeeth).
Dyeing hair with pure black dye is Haraam because the Prophet (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: "Avoid black," and because of the threat of punishment reported with regard to this matter. This ruling applies to both men and women.
But if the black dye is mixed with another colour, so that it is no longer black, there is nothing wrong with it.
[See Fatawa Islamiyyah, 4/424, and Fatawa al-mar’ah al-Muslimah, 2/520.]
_____________________________
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen ( may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
If the hair is dyed black, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade that when he commanded a man to change his white hair, but to avoid black. He said: “Change this white hair but avoid black.” (See Saheeh Muslim, 5476). A stern warning has also been narrated to the one who does that, namely the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “There will be people at the end of time who will dye their hair black like the crops of birds; they will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4212; al-Nasaa’i, 8/138; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 8153). This indicates that it is forbidden to change the hair with black dye. With regard to changing it with different colours of dye, the basic principle is that it is permissible, unless it is done in the manner of kaafir women or immoral women, in which case it is forbidden for that reason, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 4031; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel, 5/109).

Marriage talks and an Arab spouse.
The reason to the title is because I had a conversation with my parents about an ideal future spouse and this is what they had to say.
Me: Sister Fatin's planning to get me hooked up with an arab guy; one of her cousin's or some long distant relative and Nada loves the idea.
Umi: AWWW NICE! Ask her to get one for you that's inshaAllah very polite and practising. There is no need for him to be good looking or rich; you just need a good person who can support you and guide you for this life and the hereafter.
Baba: CAN! I approve.
Fatin and Nada wants me to be married off to an Arab, Umi's sisters want me to complete the family tradition and marry an indian, Baba would be more than happy to see me married off to an Indonesian, Sisters Sofia and Haziqah are planning to hook me up to some Malay guy they know but I say, I say, I don't care if he's arab or non-arab, if he eats falafel or burgerdale(Malay potato cake); Insha'Allah he's a good Muslim :)
:/ LOL.
Speaking of arabs, I'm craving for falafel and beshamel! :(

The Eid Project.
How do you spend your Eid Ul Adha usually? Here, as far as I know, Eid Ul Adha is not given much of an importance. No one really celebrates it with any form of enthusiasm at all. You get people shopping for Eid Ul Fitr a month in advance but no one gives a crap about Eid Ul Adha. Sad, truly, it's just really really sad. :(
That is why I'm here to make you eid a little more special!
The Eid Project.
Many of us tend to forget about the importance of Charity in our lives as Muslims. So today, I want all of you to participate in this project insha'Allah.
It truly isn't anything much at all. All you need to do is make the "niyah" or intention to donate at least £1 or SG$2.54 to anyone that insha'Allah needs charity.
Take it as a form of Zakah.
It really isn't a huge amount of money and insha'Allah everyone of us here in the blogosphere can afford it.
It does not have to be just in the form of money, to those who will be performing Qurbani, insha'Allah you can donate your meat to the poor/needy.
It'll be even better if all of you who are taking part/giving charity this eid leave a comment here on this post so that at the end of 30/11/09; we can all calculate how much we've all chosen to give :)
"I will donate SG$2.54 or more this Eid and so will my family members insha'Allah"
"Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said : Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you."
[Bukhari and Muslim]
Will you choose to make a difference? Donate this Eid!
A'qilah Saiere.

That's what Ukhtis do.
You know when you're hungry and you don't have the appetite to eat, when your head is throbbing like mad and your nose is blocked and you have to breathe from your mouth which makes your throat all dry and to top all of it, your heart aches from the lil lil depressing things that has been happening in your life (LIKE YOUR NOTEBOOK'S SCREEN SCREWS UP WHEN YOU'RE HALFWAY THROUGH YOUR ESSAY); all you need to mend that wounded little heart is this -:
"Aqilah we're meeting tomorrow i wanna hug you and then i wanna make you feel everything is alright and then i want you to know that your problem is my problem cos youre my ukhti and thats what ukhtis do. I love you so much I can kill mima (her favourite pet cat) for you."
Besides the fact that you spelt my name without the ( ' ), that has to be the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. You, my dear, are the definition of a sister in this life and the hereafter. There is no need for you to kill your cat because i love him too.
To the girls that bought me a dozen donuts, you girls are the best. Especially the one that decides to buy the apple cinnamon one :P I LOVE CINNAMON :)
MWAH I love you girls to death!

don't you think so too?
i think the world is cruel to good people. What say you?
Like the Prophet said 'the dunya is prison for the believers because paradise awaits them in the hereafter.'

Man and Baby.
I was in 7 eleven to grab something for a bite because I was just proper hungry (I still am) considering my last meal was lunch at 1. So I was just in the mart, taking a sandwich out of the freezer when a man approached me. He had a sweet looking baby boy asleep in his arms. The brother was around his late 20s and had a milk bottle filled with plain water in his other hand.

You don't really want to read this...
... but oh well if you want to it's fine. I'm just going to go on ranting about how life is for me. I really think I'm an ungrateful piece of crap. When I had 3 months of holiday, I was complaining about how there really isn't any work for me and that I'm proper bored every day and my brain was going to die anytime. NOW that I'm back at school, I've come to realise that work is no fun at all!
I NEED TO START READING! (Oh what a revelation!) No, really. I do. LOL. Or imma die. I need to start reading up.
