Even after many Muslimahs have become established fashion designers for their own kind and for non-Muslim women both in the Middle East and in the United Kingdom and even after thousands of Hijabees have been seen dressing up in top fashion yet still modest, many still choose to think that they are oppressed and aren't able to meet the standards in lifestyle of those living out of the deen.
I believe that ignorance is a choice - these people's choice. Their choice to view these established modern, modest and successful Muslim women as nothing but pathetic and oppressed women living in a male dominated society that restricts them like a cage in a bird just because they choose to not have sex with random men and not get drunk on tequila and hard liquor.
They are not uninformed of Islam, they just choose to think that Muslims are not liberated and are unsuccessful.
So the next time you see a non-Muslim woman calling your sister oppressed, all you have to do is show her a video of Rabia Z. & Sarah Elenany.
& remember don't get too angry because they might just call you a terrorist instead ;)
